I see the rather large bonus the Minmatar get for having all five levels of Logistics. 50% more range and 25% more armor healed. but does it really make that big a difference? I am pretty new to this game. I feel like that is a lot. But I could be wrong wanted some more seasoned opinions on this before I dump SP into it. |

Minmatar is your best choice.
As logistics suits have a crappy stamina pool and regen it's hard to keep up with running players. It's funny that they decided to still call it 'logistics'. You can see that the range comes in handy to compensate this.
You may want to hang out a little bit because CCP is planning on changing the slot-layout on the suits.

Minmatar is the best at dishing out the reps but lacks the surviablty with its low overall health. The extra movement speed helps to keep up with sprinting heavies. And if you use the extra 50% distance to ur advantage u can stay out of the worst fire.

I have a full proto minmatard logi with roughly 25mil SP, Its better to run a scout with rep tool.
Give me my scrambler pistol back....**

This. All logi eq is expensive and being squishy just means hemorrhaging money. It's smarter to get your big 4 core skills up:
Armor, Shield, Electronics, Engineering.
Then go mods: armor plates, armor repair, shield extenders, etc
Then go eq: rep tool
The good news is, you can get to minmatar logi lvl 5 and still rock the benefits on a lvl 1, which allows you to wear lower tier gear and still have some awesome outcomes. Check out that link someone posted above. Best reading you'll do. I also highly recommend you skill into profile skills early. This entire game is turning into who can spot who on the radar faster. Also, join up in squads or worse case, stick with a big batch of blues. As a logi, you only shine when you're moving with your friendlies.

1. proto gal with scanners
2. proto min (4 equipment slots and rep bonuses)
3. tied between amarr and cal proto
as far as survivability
1. proto gal with scanners

OP, if you're looking for a Logi that can keep up with everyone and still be an effective slayer, then I'll have to recommend the Scout gk.0.
You can carry a rep tool and a cloak. You can carry a rep tool and some hives. You can carry a rep tool and a needle.
Scout gk.0 is best logi. |

Tell you one thing. I highly, highly doubt speed tanking on a Min Logi is viable anymore.
I wouldn't even use ferroscales on it.

Gal has 4 slots at proto as well, why do people neglect this?
Also @OP: make sure your suit skills dont exceed your core skills. Get everything to lvl 3 and then build from there. Min is a great rep suit but the range is definitely the cherry on top, you can rep from all kinds of goofy hiding spots and dont have to worry as much about getting your balls blown off by explosives.
A display of sucking that rivals the highest amount of sucking that a player has displayed in the history of sucking.-JR

I find Min Logi best for indiscriminate support. rep as many guy's as possible fast and get out.
For dedicated logi a Gal / Cal seems to be a better option as they can stay in the line of fire longer. Not saying a smart Min logi wouldn't make a great tagteam but in my personal experience works best when the heavy acknowledges his ally is slightly more fragile and doesn't just rush headlong into fire. So although a Min logi with a Core Focused is a beast healer I can't recommend it all the time.
If your solo in pubs I'd go for the Lai Dai Flux. The range is staggering and you expose yourself far less.
