Because if something is balanced in Dust it will likely be balanced in Legion, since it is mostly all the same core mechanics. So in the case of Amarr and Minmatar vehicles, would you rather introduce them in Dust and have them be broken promoting more bad word of mouth for the Dust 514 brand, or would you rather introduce them in Legion and have them be broken and promoting bad word of mouth for the Legion brand? I want full racial parity in DUST. It was promised, and it's possible to achieve. CCP better launch Legion with full racial parity, and they should test those assets in DUST first to work out the balance issues. Same with the heavy weapons. CCP should put out a final client update with full racial parity (that can be tweaked with hotfixes if necessary), corp battles, team deploy, ability to sell junk back to the market, and replace K/D with ISK-efficiency. This is a very reasonable list. With all of these I could enjoy DUST for a long while, and they'd get much needed feedback for Legion.

Regardless though, my comment still stands. Any Unreal art asset they create will be for legion first simply because the PC architecture can make it work faster than trimming it down for the PS3. I hope-to-hell they make "low rez" versions of everything for Legion (i.e. The same resolutions we have for DUST). I don't want a shiny version of DUSt with 16 v 16. I want 100+ v 100+ battles, and low res textures are going to be necessary for that to work, even on PC hardware. So if CCP is going to have to make the assets anyways, they damn-well better get them balanced in DUST first.

On the PC its going to be adjustable, so its not really a factor to consider...you'll have low-med-high-ultra-etc graphics which will determine the texture complexity. If anything you should ask that they put in a system that will dynamically (via user defined settings) lower the resolution based on # of people in proximity... that would be really nice.... I was under the impression that there were multiple versions of each asset and when you select medium graphics setting you used the medium assets. Are you saying they only ship with ultra graphics and those assets are programatically downscaled at runtime?
