Also, even the first generation Templars used other race's weapons, including the Gallente Plasma cannon and fragmentation grenades (of which amarr doesn't seem to have any). If it makes you feel better, if I could, space-side I would make Amarr (well Khanid Capsuleer in the Tash-Murkon region) made and mined weapons for you to use as a compromise.
