The current ground based Light attack vehicle has too much issues with the terrain. Instead of a 4X4 ground vehicle you should replace them with something like a hoovercraft kinda vehicle which would make it easier to drive around uneven terrain.

Or an LAV that actually can handle rough terrain. Right now we're off roading in a station wagon, we need a hummer.
I think the Minmatar LAV concept art actually looked like it had decent suspension?

I can assure you that a HMMWV does not go hauling butt across any terrain. Max speed is usually around 50 mph and that is on a nice smooth freeway. You definitely do not speed across rough terrain either. You dont want to roll over, slow down :) |

Not only did it handle better over rough terrain than a Caldari LAV, it would probably survive a blast from a Forge Gun as well. I once got it stuck a mile and a half way from the nearest road just before midnight. LOL. Good times!

Just replace all current models with Land Rover Defenders. They are THE answer.

Spoke about this long time ago. The current LAVs are more designed for roads, and not off-road planetary warfare. This primarily down to the fact that the chassis of the car is too close to the ground and suspension sucks hard, we need real buggies. Take a look at Starhawks LAVs: http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/user_upload/ckeditor/E3-17.png

As the above said, it's the LAV's design's fault.
Also I doubt hovercraft is used for battle vehicles much at all other than fast moving light vehicles. (like the speeder). |

The first generation LAV's from Dust 2009 handled better than the warthog did.
It was later decided that making everything look, play, and feel like **** was a better design strategy than giving players things that actually worked.
Why? Couldn't tell you. CCP Blam! might be able to answer that question, but he was mysteriously removed from the CCP workforce. I can't imagine why. |

They just need softer suspension, that's all. It'd be nice to be able to tweak that in the fittings. Trying to go as the crow flies in a LAV will see you rolling half the distance to your destination.
