In comparison to 1.7, it's not nearly as bad. For the most part if a tank is red lining you and hasn't been ***** slapped by 6 forge guns and 6 swarm launchers its your team being scrubby that lost. Which happens to all of us. Somehow this game achieved unparalleled levels of bad players this summer. I don't even remember last summer being this bad. I want to just blame them being newberries but day one playing this game I knew that I should use that AV starter fit if vehicles are giving me trouble. 16 militia swarm launchers will **** any tank.
I don't know how many times dat proto madrugar blaster would have me red lined though with my ishokune assault forge and their whole team would turn on me while my team is spamming assault rifles because... because... I don't really know what is going through their head when players are spamming anti infantry at our spawn with a tank sitting on it. I feel your pain.
Even in multiplayer battlefield 1942 most players would pull out anti vehicle soldiers or engineers to take out a tank push. I guess that was back when only nerds played video games though...
I blame the call of duty brosef culture for the large pool of bad players these days. |

It's the one's like Spkr that are annoying and there are just way too many like him that gravitate towards vehicles and end up making up the bulk of those that use them in any game that has them.

Oh come on not this again... not being able to capture an objective will never justify the level of OPness 1.7 brought. Having flashbacks to 1.7 where that was the biggest excuse for Tanks since them being expensive was no longer a thing. Tanks are fine as it is, its mostly an issue of players being too dumb to bring out the AV. |

The only reason tankers can't cap objectives is because people are ********. I'll use a recent experience I had while driving around in a tank. My team had captured all the objectives, we were dominating the early game. I had a squadmate and a blueberry in my tank (Mobile CRU, PTFO FTW!) and we were on Manus Peak by A. A couple of red dots starting moving in on it (Just two, I believe) and one started hacking. I knew I couldn't re-position my tank fast enough to take out the guy hacking, so I jumped out, ran up to the objective and knifed him before he could hack. I knew there was a second guy there, but I didn't want to risk going against him as I was in a relatively squishy Minmatar scout, so I turned around and started running back to my tank. I started taking fire and almost made it back when the blueberry switched to the driver seat and drove my tank into the redline, getting out of it and leaving it there to explode.
A got swarmed moments later, I died, my squadmate died, the blueberry died, we lost A, and the enemy team promptly came back with three tanks in the short time that we were down. They capped all three objectives and managed to hold them for a short while. By the time we started coming back and got rid of those tanks, it was too late. The game ended, about three to five ticks left on the enemy MCC and just a few clones left on both sides. That lone blueberry cost us the early push we had just by being a douche. That's the only reason tanks can't cap objectives, and if CCP put on vehicle locks, maybe tankers wouldn't be quite as hated as they are now, because they'd actually be doing something besides rolling around killing (or trying to kill) everything in sight.
But hey, you're a tanker, so you know these kinds of problems well enough already I'd assume.

Vehicle locking to just yourself or squadmates is like a sell button in the assets. No real reason it shouldn't be there except that CCP pumped out the coding for this game ASAP then dumped it. Or an eject button would be nice. Plenty of times I don't mind being a gunner and getting out when I need to, or hell just bumming a ride at the start when the vehicle quota was reached in 10 seconds. But instead I'm left running to the objective because players are rightfully scared i'll be an ******* and steal their vehicle if I hop in. Though it's no where near as scummy in my opinion as the tankers that will wait and run over their teams LAV and dropships "cuz lawl I troll ju!!" |

Like i said to me av=particle cannons. When im against tanks its only because i dont want to bother the poor kdr padding scrubs.

The solution to tanks is to flux and forge, forge, flux and swarm, or just swarm...or tank...or REs...really anything designed to be anti-vehicle will take out a tank (assuming equal skill) about as often as any rifle will take out a heavy...people just seem to complain about tanks more because they need a specialty weapon to deal with it...that and it's a big, mobile piece of cover that, when used correctly, provides immunity for blueberries clever enough to hide behind it. |

The Hardener nerfs made tanks no longer the treading gods 1.7 made them. Though 40% on a gunnlogi can still be pretty bitchy. |
