any forgegun for any vehicle. it's basically your preference and skill.
Assault forge is king if you're more concerned with putting shots downrange fast. It also seems to be a good fit for minmatar heavies in AV roles.
Breach is slow and steady. use the caldari sentinel at extreme range. It's good for making vehicle drivers **** themselves more or less instantly.
Standard forge is more versatile then the aforementioned two. THe officer gun also behaves like a standard forge with assault charge times and breach damage. |

Assault FG is king. It out dps normal and breach one.
If you want to destroy tanks (good tankers - blaster type) with 1 clip (4 shoots) you have to use IAFG with prof 3-5 and 2dmg mods.

Actually the officer has a lower charge time (2.4 vs 3.0 base charge time) than the assault and the damage done by it is the same as the standard proto forge. The officer forge gets 6 shots in a clip and a slightly larger ammo pool so it can near about double the damage of the breach in the time it takes the breach to charge.
The assault and the officer used to have the same charge time but the officer didn't get nerfed when all the other FG's got nerfed.

if you practice with the assault forge it is the best for all situations. sometimes i like to just drive around in a LAV with a assault forge and Lai Dye AV nads and destroy all the Ads and tanks on the map.

Get the Ishukone Assualt forge gun, try to get some prof in it, with Cal sent, I fill all my highs with dmg mods, and carry packed AV grenades. I usually get pretty close to the tank(Stupid but works for me) Throw both AV grenades, and 1-2 forge shots kills it. I use to run with the breach, but it wasn't all too good because of the long charge time, good for OHK, but other than that I lost alot of targets. The Regular FG has less dmg and more charge up time than the assualt, but I'd use it if I was aiming for infantry.
Also If you want to use the breach, but don't want to stand still while charging, you can't walk, but you can jump and move, so if you are under fire, charge in cover, jump out when you are ready to fire. |

I recently decided to play with the standard Kaalkiota forge gun again after using exclusively Ishukone Assault, man it threw off my game.
If you can memorize the charge time on the assault and learn how to time your charges there really is no comparison, as has been said. But I have found it easier to lead and connect more shots on ADS with the standard gun. The breach I believe best used on a rooftop with nearby cover, and is great for slapping dropships out of the sky. Tanks you better stick with assault, you need the short charge time.

Assault forge if you're going to hit it from the ground (face to face, jumping and strafing like a maniac) Breach for rooftop camping. Only use the regular for infantry sniping.

Breach is more anti fast vehicle typically dropships and lavs; the idea is to drive them away or nail them as they're running away from being driven away.

Best way to take down any thing is to get 2-3(3 if the tank or DS has alot of ehp) breach forge guns, at prof 3 or higher, with damage mods, and sync the shot... You would take down any vehicle instantly, even probably a bolas. |

Also If you want to use the breach, but don't want to stand still while charging, you can't walk, but you can jump and move, so if you are under fire, charge in cover, jump out when you are ready to fire. good idea but av nades dont work if your trying to NOT die and let us not forget that AV nades SUCK they need damage buff and max carried = 3 or 4 and proximity mines need a buff too more damage 6 carried and 6 active its just damage/fitting which changes over standard/adv/proto

Assault forge is the DPS king, it's the fastest at wrecking vehicles but it's not good for infantry sniping since it auto fires when charged up.
Regular is the infantry sniping king but it can still wreck vehicles though not as fast.
Breach is your coordinated popping gun. Unless you are running with other av users to insta gib vehicles not much point in it as the whole rooted in place thing isn't worth the added damage especially since the charge time to damage ratio is the lowest of all the forge guns. |

Another drawback is once i hit the dropship they usually figure out where I'm hitting from in a couple of hits. With a breach it leaves me really vulnerable after the first shots whereas with an assault I still have the option to flee and fight back at the same time.

Personally, I use the Kaal 99% of the time, on Cal Sentinel with 3 complex dam mods. Best for all situations. You can hold the charge when vehicles flee around obstacles, firing when you have your best shot; plus if you are caught in close quarters, you can OHK HMG heavies if you aim it right. Not saying you can't do all this with the assault versions, but way easier if you can hold the charge.

In my opinion the Assault is mostly for downing an aggressive tank or dropship that has overstayed it's welcome. Normally though the standard will probably be better anyways since you can more easily aim at the weakspots which will usually suprise and kill even the most experienced pilots if you can train each shot on the weakspot. You can generally take out a dropship before it escapes for instance if you hit its engines although that's easier said then done when its rolling around in the sky flailing like a mad man to escape. |

Why chose any 1, when you can have everything... Gastuns is the way to go, lol.
I'd suggest the normal one, it deals pleanty of damage and the charge time is fine... It also has the benefit of easily killing any infantry in range as well, whereas the assualt is a bit hit and miss. |

My tip for killing me in an ADS is to use an AFG and fire one shot and then reload. I will assume that it is a militia forge if it fires slowly so i am likely to be tricked into getting closer. Then you can unleash a full clip to finish me off.

I run a very aggressive and high DPS ADS build, if you miss a shot or alert me to your AV presence out in the open I guarantee I will make your job of killing me very difficult. The best ways to take me out would be to wait until I am nearby and my afterburners are cooling, then ambush me when I can't make a hasty getaway, or to nail me when I'm flying near a building, the collision with a structure will likely finish the job since collision damage to Pythons is currently hypersensitive and not functioning properly.
Following up on this, Judge, I surely hope that you are aware of the Incubitch ramming bug and have plans to address it properly. I refuse to take off when there is an Incubus airborne since everyone and their mother at this point knows that an Incubus takes almost no damage when colliding with a shield DS at full speed. |

Actually, they take lots of damage. Its the damage application that is the problem not so much the craft. sometimes no damage sometimes death. I have a video somewhere. Ill see if I can dig it up.
