How does WP for damaging vehicles work?

Sometimes, I can lay 5-6 forge shots into a tank and get nothing. Other times, I'll hit it twice and get 150WP. Other times, I'll hit a few times and only get 50 WP. They metric is horrible, still gives people no real reason to run AV since they have no clue if they are going to get anything for that shot or not. Official DUST514 LAV Mechanic

Might have to get them down to a certain percentage of hp or something. One thing I noticed was sometimes you get more wp for accrued damage then for the actual kill. Which is kind of good because no one is yelling about stolen kills. Not really into AV for the WP though. Just want to be a thorn in a vehicle user's side. Embracing my inner scrub since 2013.

So if a vehicle is hardened, your shots are not depleting as much HP, and therefor are not depleting much of its total HP. LAVs on the other hand are rarely hardened and have low HP, so you can hit them for a large % of their total every shot, hence the WP pinata.

I got 150 WP this morning for a single shot to an Incubus, which also survived, and barely touched it's armor. My next question being if you hit a vehicle in it's weak zone I wonder if you're rewarded more for it? Cause I did seem to pop it right in the thruster. Official DUST514 LAV Mechanic

Like McBob said every shot on a LAV gets you +75 and if I'm correct then it's because the LAV's tend to have a low total HP. Tanks on the other hand have a higher total HP and if their hardener is active then the damage you deal is a lower percentage of that HP but each shot you take lowers the total HP thus making your shots a higher percentage each time. Yeah, if there's a stubborn ADS pilot you can easily top the scoreboard at the end of a match just from shooting at him the whole match. Did this yesterday and was sitting pretty at the top with 0 kills, 0 assists, 0 deaths; Didn't hack anything and didn't throw out any equipment but I had a little over 3k WP's just because that pilot couldn't take a hint. It seems strange you can get 150 or more points for damaging an LAV but only 40 for killing it. You can milk those points by killing a driver or finding an abandoned LAV and letting armor regenerate then blasting it. I think it eventually self destructs. To me that is something that should be fixed but not very important. Because, that's why.
