1 bloodline - all came from the human race originally.
4 factions - Amarr, Caldari, Gallente and Minmatar.
Jovians won't count as that races is either now extinct or won't get involved in the eve universe... Also that and they represent CCP devs....

The reason why there is five races is because there is literally five races involved in the clone solider program which are the 4 Major Factions the the fifth one more unwilling participant (Sleepers).
Sleepers themselves uploaded their conciseness into a network to escape whatever was killing their race off along time ago and when the Amarr recovered said technology and implanted them into the first generation soldiers either insanity or extreme paranoia where shown at first. later generation soldiers are shown more paranoia, hubris or lack of empathy.
Sleepers now are more curious than anything with the new races and what they are doing but I suggest read about one certain mercenaries adventures to get a like peak at what's going on.
Also the number '4' is the Four Factions fighting each other as Sleepers themselves don't really have a faction considering they are just AI programs right now.
