Assault suit bonuses were changed to:
- Amarr: 5%/level heat buildup bonus (roughly equivalent to the bonus of Scrambler Rifle Operation) - Caldari: 5%/level faster reload (souped-up version of Rail Rifle Rapid Reload) - Gallente: less hip fire dispersion for blasters (roughly equivalent to the bonus of Assault Rifle Sharpshooter) - Minmatar: 5% extra magazine size for projectile weapons per level (.........)
Minmatar were also slated to get a bonus to explosive weapons, since they have two racial types, but it was cut, leaving explosive weapons as the only weapons without a medium frame bonus (note that Minmatar Commandos have bonuses to both projectile and explosive)
I propose:
Minmatar Assault bonus changed to
- +5% magazine capacity to light and sidearm projectile weapons (same as now)
- +5% blast radius to light and sidearm explosive weapons
Why +5% blast radius? Because this is exactly the same bonus as Mass Driver Operation and Flaylock Pistol Operation skills provide, which is in line with the power of the other races' bonuses.
Plus, it doesn't provide more raw DPS but does enhance the racial weapons, which seems to be the theme for assault suits.

At the moment I have a Assault MD, Assault Gal suit with 3 PRO dam mods. But with the new update we will get 7% so even better. Now this weapon,Assault MD, is the epitome of a spam weapon. If you want to make it so the Min Assault gets 11+ shots with these new amazing damage mods I found my new OP suit and I am all for it.

A clip increase to the Assault Mass Driver would only increase your ability to sustain fire, which is something that the Assault bonuses should be doing. Considering how it wouldn't change the actual DPS, it wouldn't be any more OP than the Matari Commando with Assault MDs.
You know, the ones who can have a 16 Round clip if they so desire as well as a 10% Damage Increase.

What you suggest might just get people to use the Flaylock again but that's prob why their going to look at side arms next .
I like what you proposed and I wouldn't have a problem with it , I use min assaults though not that often but I'm starting to so I don't know .
I have Mass drivers and just don't use them just like I just started using Rail rifles and Combat rifles even though I have them at level 4 .
Hell I thought that the bonuses to nano's for the Caldari logi would include injectors but it doesn't and if it did I prob wouldn't have gone with the Min logi and used my own races logi but anyway .
It's a good thought and I don't see it as OP or game breaking .
It would make Minmatar the anti-vehicle race and I wouldn't mind that seeing as how I have more spent in Minmatar than I do my own race of Caldari .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

Yes that does sound better or the actual per round ammo to prolong firing and decreasing the time needed to re-load .
There were so many ways that their bonus could have went , I would have liked it to go to the longevity of the combatant like shield efficacy , reduced de-pleated shield time , charger, energizer and regulator rate increase or efficacy bonus .. hell I would have liked a one hit point per second armor repair rate .
People are narrow minded like talking about dual tanking a Caldari , if someone wants to armor tank a Caldari why not .??.. people don't complain about Gal Sentinel's or Commando's using kin cats .
Thinking outside of the box or to give one the ability to , creates interest and make the game more attractive and repeat playable .

We should just maintain the % based bonus that we have for projectile weapons and extend it to explosive weapons. The +1 per level was a bit much (think about 13 round assault MD or an 8 round flaylock). Also this should not include Swarms as technically they are missile and Caldari.
Result of +5% to explosive weapon clip at lvl 5 Mass driver - 8 round clip Assault Mass driver - 10 round clip Flaylock - 4 round clip
What happened to the repair tool glow?

Is that such a bad thing? Especially in comparison with the minmatar projectile bonus, or the amarr laser bonus?
It doesn't even affect the direct hit damage anyway.

No "ALSO" but I believe it should have a bonus too explosive damage type weapons including Grenades, MD, and Flay Locks.

i think a bonus to explosives should go on the min scout rather than the knivez (a caldari weapon) and hacking ability (should be a logi exlusive ability) |

Looks like many people can't tell the difference between light and sidearm weapons with the explosive damage type, and the equipmentcalled Remote Explosives.

IMO there's not enough grenade damage types to give racial bonuses to grenades. Plus, they kinda do different things than racial rifles.

I never said anything about DPS. This is a spam weapon, giving a 11+ clip to Min assault only extends it being a spam weapon to the Assault class. To say this weapon is any less than that is bull. I am not for it, there is a reason they removed it from the Assault class in the first place.

The reason they removed it from the assault class was that the bonus it provided was way out of kilter with the +5%/level bonuses of other suits.

OP I love how you point out both the Cal and Gal assault bonuses as being reasonable when they are both horrible. The Minmatar bonus is not Earth shartteringly good for sure but it is far better than these two which really don't help the suits in their role at all.
I always thought that the Min bonus was pretty solid actually and that the suits weren't used because they are too squishy. Would increasing the Min assault's damage dealing ability actually increase its usefulness? I still think it will go down to fast to apply damage even this additional bonus.
Really the assault bonuses need to be altered to do two things: 1) apply damage (which this does) 2) increase survivability (which I see as the current problem with Min assaults)
Since I haven't played Min assault since chrome though I could very well be wrong.

i think the current bonuses are just bad..
Assault suits need a +50% to +100% carried ammo bonus(flat) and a 5% clipsize per level.. then people may actually use assaults over scouts

Because their weapons are split between two types of damage. It's not as if a min assault can carry around a combat rifle and a mass driver at the same time.

If you count swarms as a caldari weapon, then yes.

So you're saying that the gallente bonus works on all their racial weapons but it's unfair that the minmatar bonus works on all their racial weapons too? That doesn't seem equitable.
