Besides being a new player that can't run better gear of course. If they released an actual date that Dust will be dead would you use up your assets or would there still be some stupid ethical code that prevented you from using the gear you grinded away for? I do run proto only when I feel like it. If they announced the closing of Dust I would burn it all, The suits, weapons. whatever in about 2 maybe 3 days. Then I would delete the game and just remember when I thought this game was going somewhere. Closed Beta Vet and gave up on assault back to Heavy full time. Remove cloaks balance scouts.

Same for starter fits. Officer gear from loot and gear from events should have had a 30 day use-it-or-lose-it aspect, with an option to trade it in for some pittance of ISK. I have been managing to earn ISK at a fairly good rate doing this. Without a BPO the suit would cost 6810 ISK. Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

I wish that was my excuse on the Logi ALT. After some point while I was out in June or July the suck defended on my poor Logi. Running Advanced dropsuit turned into a money sink. After spending a pile of unallocated SP and deleting many fits I decided to return to his Chromesome-Logi-Bro roots: Mass Driver, Nanohives (often K-2s), Rep Tool, Needle. Also a backup Toxin SMG with Advanced EQ-Kit fitting just in case. Apparently running fits under 30k (and some fitting tweaks) was what he needed to be profitable again.
