Why would you be running it at this stage of the game? Besides being a new player that can't run better gear of course.
If they released an actual date that Dust will be dead would you use up your assets or would there still be some stupid ethical code that prevented you from using the gear you grinded away for?

Hey Thor,
I run BPO's for I do not feel like wasting ISK on pubs. I do run proto only when I feel like it. If they announced the closing of Dust I would burn it all, The suits, weapons. whatever in about 2 maybe 3 days. Then I would delete the game and just remember when I thought this game was going somewhere.
Closed Beta Vet and gave up on assault back to Heavy full time. Remove cloaks balance scouts.

I run BPO's and starter fits when I see I am in a queue synced match or against a know protostomping corp. No reason to give them my ISK. I can die 5 times for every one protobear I kill; they might have a better K/D that match, but I win the ISK efficiency war.
He imposes order on the chaos of organic evolution...

I just love the fact that when the redline Thales loses his fancy gun to my dragonfly scout with c15 sniper, his kill feeds show how little risk I took to wipe his name.

You have to admit: CCP crowing on about how every suit and piece of gear would be costing the player dearly and how great and different that made Dust, then turning around and providing starter fits and BPOs, should have told everyone around here something.
K/D(r) matchmaking fixes the whole game. Period. It even fixes WP/D(r).

Because doing well in a Frontline equipped with an Exile and a Toxin is just as fun for me as a Commando gk.0 with double Duvolles.
It's a nice challenge, and I have them, so why not? |

Besides, I could never burn through all of my ISK and accumulated proto gear. I'd have to no-life for the next year, and Dust won't last that long....
Maybe I'll bring some of it to Legion. Maybe not. It's just a game.
I've never grinded for ISK or gear, I just play to have fun. I became rich by accident. Oops.... My bad.

I can still wreck a team in ambush with 25/5 scores and not even lose 25000isk doing it with this fit lol:

I couldn't spend all mine either. I give ISK away all the time.
I just wish the matches were more fun. I also get tired of people whining about the dude that killed them being in proto gear.
I've literally NEVER uttered those words. I don't care what I get killed by in regards to level.
I used to only break it out when there was an actual fight going down because it was fun.

BPOs should have generated a few copies of the respective gear per day with a hard max cap. Same for starter fits. Officer gear from loot and gear from events should have had a 30 day use-it-or-lose-it aspect, with an option to trade it in for some pittance of ISK.
K/D(r) matchmaking fixes the whole game. Period. It even fixes WP/D(r).

I'll give you some ISK next time I see you on.
I plan on no longer being an active Dust player after my vacation (Aug 1-14). But I'm sure the crack sprinkles they put into Dust will make me come back from time to time.

On my Amarr Sentinel I dropped under 4 million ISK, so I switched to using a suit which costs 3810 ISK. I have been managing to earn ISK at a fairly good rate doing this.
Without a BPO the suit would cost 6810 ISK.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Running Prototype suits, weapons, and modules is too boring. The playerbase isn't good enough to keep up with me when I trash their proto gear in my C-I Assault. Why would I bother running more HP and higher DPS when it just takes the fun out of it?

Don't constantly run it, but I love my blood red covenant assault suit, and my dren suits give me needed versatility playing solo.
What's the point of running proto while solo? If facing militia suits, it's overkill. If facing good squads, proto will not help me.

The game is a lot of fun when you take down people with proto on with weaker gear. I don't understand why people don't play with lesser gear on. I suspect they are afraid to lose any edge, and might find they need it more than they'd like to admit.
Plus, this game is developmentally fubar. I laugh at people who think otherwise, or that they are so epic in this "game". GMAFB

Most bpo is either militia or standard at most.....what the devs were talking about was the high end gear.....not to mention that when you get killed by a bpo suit, it makes you rage so much more then if it was a proto suit. |
