currently the charlie update changes slot layouts as can be seen here. FIrst off, I have little expirience in the assault role, these changes are just suggestion. So, what is going to set the assault apart from the logistics? Not much. the logistics get more equipment AND logistics bonuses. First off I suggest a 1 slot increase in every race so the total slots look like 9/7/5. This will let us see diverse fitings that will let the assault class see more action. Next we need assaults to have ewar bonuses per level. My proposed boneses: Amarr: 2% increase to stamina and 10% increase to stamina regen per level. Caldari: 5% increase to scan range, 2% decrease to scan signature per level. Gallente: 8% decrease in armor module PG cost per level Minmatar: 4% increase in walking speed per level, 5% reduction to hacking time per level.
reasoning: the amarr will now be able to recover stamina quickly, allowing for running quickly to cover, to cover, to cover. I think this suit will be a 'rabbit out of the hat suit', Along with actually being able to jump alot more.
caldari will have a stealthy setting to it, because I've seen caldari have the lowest EHP.
gallente will be a tank of a suit, and allow for fitting more medium slots with damage modifiers, and other stuff.
minmatar bonuses allow for the suit to move quickly no matter how much stamina you have. the hacking time is a perk for speed tanking bieng a horrible option right now.
thoughts? comments?

The Amarr are not "cover to cover" fighters. Not even close. They bunker down, sit there, and blast the enemy with lasers while absorbing incoming fire, they are a wall. Its quite simple really, kill the enemy with brute force and damage absorption before they can kill you. Moving about is not their thing, and even when they do move, it is slow but steady.
The Caldari are not the low eHP guys. They don't have the eHP of the Amarr, but they are also the "bunker down" type. They are the more 'peeky' kind of cover fighters. The pop up, take and give fire, get down to regenerate, then pop back up again.
Gallente are brawlers. They aren't as tanky as the Amarr by a sizable margin. They are your "cover to cover" fighters. They rush and blast, relying on facemelting cqc dps to lay down death and destruction. Compared to Amarr armor, they regenerate faster, but can't take as much of a beating.
Minmatar are are hit and run. Run up. Ratatatat. Run away. Simple. They generally have the least eHP but with a balanced armor/shield ratio. They are the fastest. You seem to actually get them, I admit.
Caldari are the group fighters that love ewar. I have yet to see them 'bunker down' as you say, unless you're on eve online, where the damage modifiers are for low slots. Nonetheless, Caldari will always fight as a group, and part of that is intel. Actually the most important part is intel.
Gallente are also especially slow, and generally need to be very close to do any damage, as such they don't 'cover'. They are the ones who push enemy forces out. They are the bulls of the game, and everyone knows that bulls stand steady. Not only that, but this progression lets the user defy armor repair staking penalty.
Amarr bonus is one that i admittedly threw together on spot. However it has its uses. The amarr Assault is mant to be an objective pusher, an assault that can put out a massive ammount of dps without having to wait to do it again. With the stamina regen boost, they can get to cover, objectives, and just about anywhere else in the nick of time.

Assaults get: Assault bonuses.(oranges and apples)
Guess what I just remembered? Roles! Assaults are better killers than Logis now. Stop ur bitching. Contradictions.
Anyway, my logistics m/1 fitting has more armor than my assault a/1. Both are fitted with same teir plates. Care to explain? An extra slot would, give a clear advantage, a defining role. Should the two fittings go toe to toe now, the logi would almost always win. (Scanners, nanohives, REs, etc)
I have given up on the assault completely, and have made my logi suit my main slayer fitting.
