Ugh I'm tired of reading idiot's posts all over these forums... How can anyone take them seriously? But I will always fight them for old time's sake. Look, Dust should not under any circumstances be compared to real life. It doesn't matter if it's called a sniper rifle, there is a risk/reward problem. It doesn't matter that New Eden is tens of thousands of years into the future, technological advancement is irrelevant to game balance. I mean come on, do you have a lick of common sense? So many people like you talk about the realism of something or how it works in other games, not realizing that Dust is very different and therefore must be treated differently. And you use that diversion to stray from the fact that there is an imbalance that you are benefiting from. You are the blight of this community. Just go.

Falloff damage from within the redline fixes this. Reducing the range would mean that:
- KB/M Forge Guns or 20GJ Railguns heavily out-perform it
- Counter-Sniping is impossible without revealing your location to the enemy Sniper.
- Certain vantage points outside the redline are no longer usable.
Though I would love a short range, high damage Sniper Rifle variant.
Damage fall-off instead of a range nerf sounds good. Have a like.
