Quick and easy CCP-reduce range by 50%, increase damage by 25%, increase headshot multiplier to 250%, keep new reticle, give it damage falloff until 450 meters, make the charge sound less annoying, slightly increase zoom on non-Thales.

Boom. Boom you have a marksman rifle, which doe not exist in dust Boom Besides who wants to snipe in CQC......This isn't CoD or BF4 with your quick scope or no scope sniping....And no one wants it to be that way. 300 meters isn't CQC last time i checked...

Im not understanding why this would be bad...redline snipers are supposed to be how the sniper works?

Ok, so all the people posting idiotically and negatively obviously disagree with me....i was, for the record, trying to buff the sniper while removing the "sit in the redline the entree match and contribute nothing" mechanic which is unhealthy for the game.
For those of you who have a bit of decency and common sense who disagreed with me: thank you for being civil.

But like i do always i will fight with an idiot (For old times sake) Look some modern day Sniper rifiles can kill from a mile away, atleast 600m. 1. There is a saying that goes "Only idiots will argue with idiots". Therefore, by acknowledging my idiocy and continuing to argue, you invalidate all of your claims due to self-induced idiocy.
2. Modern day assault rifles can pick targets off at 400 meters with ease. Are you saying the gallente assault rifle should have a 400 meter range? Your logic has some very serious loopholes
3. I do actually have a "lick of common sense", which shows itself in the fact that i didn't demand any of my changes to be implemented in any way, and merely suggested them for community feedback.
4. I can't remember the last time I've gotten sniped...these changes were to help the sniper rifle become more effective. Look at Destiny. Now, i know the snipers there are completely different than Dust, but they are balanced quite well. My proposed changes are an attempt at making them more like that, and as such better. These ideas were not proposed as nerfs, but rather buffs. However, they came across as severe nerfs, which i don't understand, and it would be helpful if you attempted to enlighten me rather than lowering yourself to slinging unproductive personal attacks. Snipers don't annoy me, they annoy me at how bad they are in this game.
5. By making a personal attack on a community member, you just proved that you are "the blight of this community", as personal attacks will always devolve into low-level, irrational behavior. Therefore, you, my friend, should "Just go."
TL:DR--Your logic is flawed, and you make personal attacks which invalidate your entire fragmented argument.

I can keep coming up with stuff to show you how the game has changed, and not in favor of sniping. I'm probably missing a few easy ones I could have pointed out. Oh well! Nice talk. Im trying to help with at least some of these problems....
The only thing i see that i have a problem with is the DS argument....the only counter to a sniper should never be forcing yourself into the redline. IMHO that's a broken mechanic.

Falloff damage from within the redline fixes this. Reducing the range would mean that:
- KB/M Forge Guns or 20GJ Railguns heavily out-perform it
- Counter-Sniping is impossible without revealing your location to the enemy Sniper.
- Certain vantage points outside the redline are no longer usable.
Though I would love a short range, high damage Sniper Rifle variant. Thank you for some rational input
Next patch, rails will have current sniper range, which is...stupid. Counter sniping would be more difficult, thats true. But, there would also be other ways to kill a sniper. True, true. I really like damage falloff..perhaps a gradual curve starting from, say (pulled out of my ass) 300 meters, with a maximum effective of say 650?

Well I've said what i think would fix snipers...what do you guys think?
Also, please include some fix that makes redline sniping worse than straying into being killable.
