A prolonged burst of static overtook the comms.

Hawkeye turned his head; groaning with considerable effort as he did so. He was on his side, still strapped into his seat. Red lights were flashing everywhere, but the accompanying sirens had given way to a deathly silence. His comm was open, but all he could hear from it was unending static.
He tried to kick the door open with no success. Things were definitely going well. He looked around the pod interior and located a small red button labelled "EMERGENCY RELEASE". He slammed it down, causing the door to be thrown off the pod by explosive bolts; and the harness to dethatch.
Hawkeye rolled out if the cramped seat into a slowly forming sand drift. The effects if the storm was immediately apparent: none of his sensors could see anything, visibility was only half a metre, and his compass couldn't come to a decision of where north was. Best if all; comms were seemingly useless.
He gathered his things from the pod cubby hole above his head and set off into the storm...
He is indestructable!

The ride on the Amarrian LAV could be described nothing short of 'hellish'. The vehicle was being thrown, careened, and flipped across the sandy landscape in ways that seemingly defied possibility. The glistening ARC cannon mounted on the rear was acting more as an anchor than a weapon.
The thumping of heavy turret emplacements and artillery shelling was getting loud enough to be heard over both the storm and the uninsulated engine, betraying at lest the approximate lactation of the facility. There was still nothing that could be seen past the twin red and blue hazes that continued to plague them.
Suddenly, and without warning; the LAV swerved to one side, and was thrown into the air. Hawkeye held onto the turret as hard as he could, but it had other ideas. As the rapidly spinning vehicle reached the peak of it's air time, one of the turret handles sheered off; the resulting imbalance causing Hawkeye to lose his grip on the remaining good handle.
Although he did land on something soft, his momentum continued to carry him across the concrete towards the crashed hulk of the former LAV. When he finally pulled his head up, he could see stars of all different colours. He was also fairly sure he could see double, he was light-headed at the very least.
Galm Fae wrote:"****..." he groaned, coming to slightly, "Sorry about that kakku."
He was too groggy to even bother acknowledging Galm's comment. His hands hurt a little worse than the rest of him, and his ribs didn't feel too steady. He would complain later.
He got up slowly, not noticing the unnerving silence through the sound of his heartbeat.
Galm had, by this point, pulled himself from the wreck, and was looking around.
{UNKNOWN} wrote:"Enemy reinforcements! Twenty five meters ahead in the courtyard! Engage!"
The order was shouted from somewhere above, although the meaning was lost on Hawkeye's still dazed mind. The intent, however, soon became apparent when bullets and lasers started pelting him; driving him to the nearest cover he could locate.
