Alexander Bass sat near the outer edge of the facility. He was looking out a viewport at the carnage of the battle engulfing the city. He saw people dressed in mediocre combat gear, throw together in a matter of hours. Fighting against the rabble, was the gold clad warriors of the Amarr empire. They wore armor that far outclassed the insurrectionists. They fired golden beams of light that burned through the forces crouding the streets.
Alexander said to himself
"Those Amarr, quite good painters of the art of war."
Alexander stood up, grabbing his rail rifle from the ground. He activated his comm unit.
"B2-VI, get in here."
The door opened and Alexander's small personal drone flew in
"You called master." Said the drone
Alexander smiled, though he didn't announces this to the world, B2-VI was his best friend.
"I need a scan of the surrounding area, let me know if any insurrectionists are near the compound.
" Of course master." replied the drone
It begin to make quick beeping noises and bright flashes.
"There are no insurrectionists within a two kilometer radius of the compound master. Do you require anythingAlexander ?"
Alexander looked out the window at the conflict.
"No B2, go back to your rounds" said Alexander
The drone flew off
Alexander reached back to his comms and said
"Good master Kador, give me a sitrep. How's the good Doctor?" |

True Adamance wrote: "Our Doctor is emaciated as ever Captain Bass..... currently absorbed in her work at the moment. No change to her physical status. How are things on your end?"
Alaxander activated his commlink
"All's well here Templar, the insurrectionists have captured some gun batteries. I'm going to seal off this section, and move to your position. Captain out."
Alaxander switched off the comms and begin to activate lock-down protocols. He walked into the corridor and the bulkhead closes behind him. He started his walk to the main lab. Templar Ouryon was the kind of man who Alaxander could admire. Honorable, dutiful, and faithful. Alaxander had seen Templars in action many times before. Most recently during the siege of Huola, but Alaxander didn't want to remember Huola right now. He summoned B2-VI.
The drone came rushing through the hall.
"You called master" said the little drone
Alaxander looked to a screen on the wall and ignored B2. Alaxander didn't like weaponry laboratories, they made him deal like any number of horrible things could happen. But that wasn't his job, he was supposed to protect the doctor. His mind went to the doctor. he knew she didn't like him, but that didn't stop him from acknowledging her beauty. He turned to B2-VI as he walked.
"Hey B2, you think it would ever be possible for me and...?"
"No" replied the drone surprisingly quick.
"You didn't let me finish!" Said Alaxander
The drone said "Master, I calculated that you would ask me if you and Miss. Dimla would work together in a relationship, and it was a resounding no."
Alaxander glared at the drone " I was going to ask about me and the doctor. "
"Oh" said the drone. "Well master, I am unsure. You never have had much success in relationships, though as they say there is a first for everything."
Alaxander glared up at the drone. They approached the door to the main lab. Alaxander opened the door and walked in. He saw the Templar standing behind the doctor. He hadn't spoken Amarr in a while, but was able to muster.
"Ave associates"

Alaxander shrugged. He knew of the doctor's dislike of him, though he didn't understand why. Perhaps it was how little background information he supplied when applying for the contract. Alaxander wasn't one for dwelling on the past, but he understood why others wanted to know. He moved over to the corner with B2-VI and they begin working on his custom nova knifes. Alaxander sealed his helmet and begins privately conversing with B2
"Why doesn't she acknowledge me B2?" Asked Alaxander
"Well master, your a mercenary. She and the two Templars are bound by duty, you are here because your paid to." Responded the drone
"After all I've done for the Amarr I'd expect to be treated..."
The drone interrupted his master
"You had yourself erased from there database sir."
Alaxander had forgotten about that. He had worked as an assassin for the empire but quit that career.

"Yes ma'am" said Alaxander. He walked around the lab. He looks at a schematic of the weapon on the wall. He had a few theories on how to get the weapon working but decided against pointing them out to the doctor. He didn't want her to dislike him anymore then she already did. B2-VI flew up to him.
"Master, I have found the cart, it is located over by the primary entrance."
Thanks B2, let's go grab it."
The two walked (or floated) over to the entrance. They grabbed the cart and returns to the doctor.
"Here you are doc." Smirked Alaxander
B2's voice said in his ear "That's not the best way to start." |

Alaxander sighed after lifting the weapon. His suit wasn't made to move such heavy objects. He hears Crownrule ask him if he wanted to gaurd the doctor. He beamed on the inside.
"Sure, i'll gaurd the doctor. You guys can bring B2 with you, he'll help install the weapon."
The drone hovers over to the Templars, a small welding device appearing from his frame.
"I'd be most delighted to assist you Templars." Said the drone |

Alaxander watched the doctor work, he admired everyone at the compounds sense of duty. He had never fought against the Amarr, but when he often served with them, they were more the capable warriors. Honor, duty, loyalty, qualities Alaxander had but rarely showed. He reached for his commlink.
"B2, the doctor doesn't want you touching the device, so you know what that means."
A mechanical voice crackled into Alaxander's ear
"Defense protocols sir?"
"Yes, use the Carthum lasers."
"Of course sir"
The drone's voice died off the commlink. Alaxander leaned against the wall. He wanted to talk to the doctor, but decided not to. He mumbled to himself
"Anything you say can and will be used against you" |

Clockwork Jester wrote:Lab: North Wing One of the walls was suddenly ripped apart in a massive explosion. Ferrocrete and steel rained down upon the unsuspecting scientists. Warning sirens were accompanied by flashing lights. A calm voice came over the internal security communication system explaining the situation. Despite the severity of the situation that was taking place the voice remained nearly emotionless. The defense forces were quickly mobilized to deal with the unexpected threat, although the nature of the attack caused them to respond slowly. The public channel on the other hand was filled with chaos and confusion. The scientists that inhabited the facility were unaccustomed to the chaos of war. Most had only dealt with it from behind the safety of their neocoms. Amidst the confusion and flames the Amarr defense forces engaged with the Krusual soldiers.
Emergency lights were flashing everywhere. Alaxander went into combat mode, grabbing his commlink and checking screens for security information.
"B2, Templars! We have a breach in the north wing. Scramble defense systems, I'll get the doctor to safety."
Alaxander grabbed his Rail Rifle, he didn't expect an attack but that didn't mean he wasn't ready for one. He moved over to a security console and began locking down the north wing. After he had activated security, he moved over to the doctor and put his hand on her shoulder. He said in his kindest but most serious voice.
"Doctor, we have to leave." |

The Doctor was so engrossed in her work that she hardly registered all of the warning bombarding her. Captain Bass wrote:"Doctor, we have to leave."
GÇ£I am currently in the middle of working Mr. Bass, and I have no intention of going anywhere at the moment. If you are so worried about my safety then I suggest you do your job better.GÇ¥ She never even bothered to look up from the small cube she was working on. It wasnGÇÖt until she started receiving communications on her neocom from the other researchers. They were all panicked and difficult to understand. GÇ£You all get flustered by the smallest thingsGÇ¥ she muttered to herself.GÇ¥ It wasnGÇÖt until she felt the entire building shake that she lifted her head. GÇ£You could have said something to meGÇ¥ she glared at Captain Bass. Luxanne started moving around the lab grabbing documents and smaller prototypes. If they were going to be moving somewhere else she would need to bring her work with her. (You can control her to get her moving)
After the Doctor collected her things, Alexander led her into the main corridor. His goal was to get her to the safe house deep in the compound and Alexander was willing to do anything to get her there safe. He heard gunfire, it was fairly close. He motioned to the doctor to slow down. He crept forward slowly and carefully. He looked into the other hall, seeing nothing he motioned to the doctor to follow
At the end of the hall was the entrance to the safe house. As they moved towards the door, the gunfire grew louder. Alexander turned around and was met with the sight of three hostile troops. They opened fire on him and the doctor. Alexander threw himself between the bullets and the doctor. The rounds hit Alexander in the stomach the pain was unbearable, but he raised his rail riffle and blasted two of the three attackers. His vision became blurry, he had lost a lot of blood. The third attacker raised his gun and Alexander knew it was over. But before the attacker could fire, B2 flew in, his normal blue light replaced by a blood red.
"Protect the Master!" shrieked the drone
He blasted the attacker with his laser. Alexander and the doctor ran into the safe house, B2 close behind. The three entered the room and Alexander slammed the lockdown control and the door closed/ He walked over to the corner and removed his helmet, drooping it to the floor. His hand moved to his stomach, he had lost a lot of blood. His strength in his legs failed and he crumbled to the floor.
B2 hovered over to Alexander. "Master! Your hurt!"
"No **** B2"
Alexander looked to the doctor and said
"Am I doing my job better Doc?"

Alaxander's eyes flashed open. He punched a hole in his tank and fell out. He leaped up and put his armor on. He was filled with a flaming rage. He mumbled to himself
"That sexy ****."
The Doctors last words echoed in his ear
"You had better save me" she had said
"I will, by God I will save you"
He loaded his rail rifle and grabbed a set of nova knifes. He ran out the door. Outside there were three rebels. He made short work of them. He ran through the halls killing everything in his path. He reached for his communicator.
"B2! Where is the Doctor?" He shouted
"She has been taken master! I'm watching her captors from afar, she is with a clone sir"
"Damn, stay locked on her position I'm on my way"
Just as Alaxander turned the corner he saw Templar Crownrule bleeding on the floor. He ran up to the Templar and stabbed a nanite injection into him. He didn't wait for the Templar to respond
"Doctor has been taken, the enemy has clones, your with me, let's move"
Alaxander returned to his sprint. He had no mercy in his heart for his enemies. He didn't care what she thought about it, he loved the Doctor. He WAS going to save her, he WAS going to find the people who took her, and he WAS going to kill them.

Alexander blasted three more rebels. He had to find the Doctor as if it was almost his only purpose in life. Just as he was growing desperate he heard a voice crackle over his communicator
Unknown Soldier wrote:"Heeeeeeeeey! To any Paladins or... For that matter any Templars, Chimeras, or other misguided auxiliaries that might be out there fighting for their lives... I think you left something behind here in the research center. I believe I deserve some sort of finders fee, no? I mean, unless she isn't worth anything. Then I can just splatter her against this wall or something, I don't know. I mean, there are some faces that would look a lot better with a hole in them but this isn't one of those. Can't build on perfection, am I right? Anyway, I'm rambling and I would really much rather try to work out some sort of deal."
"B2, lock on to that transmission!"
Alexander grabbed his Communicator
"Templar rendezvous at my position, I've found the Doctor and we need a plan." |

Galm Fae wrote:Galm Fae wrote:"Oh! Saisa kirjuun! Well first of all, don't call my mother a *****. Okay? It hurts my feelings and she was a nice lady. I say was of course because she's dead now, so I suppose you could say I have a bit of experience with dead nice ladies if you catch my meaning. So for my first demand, I would like an apology. It would make me feel a lot better about myself.
"Secondly, I want you to answer a little something soldier. Haven't you ever asked yourself why all of this is happening? Why would the Republic Fleet start a minor incursion for this Khanid woman? For experimental weapons? That's a joke. A VR and Biotech scientist placed in the rear end of nowhere for 'weapons testing.' Now doesn't that sound a tad bit unusual to you?"
He laughs coldly through his microphone.
"Yeah. Me too. That's why I want everything here. Weapon schematics, research entries, lab reports, I want it all. I want the harddrive from the the master server running this entire facility, and I want the encryption keys to all of it. Then I want guaranteed transport to the nearest Caldari embassy. Those are my demands."
Alexander bangs his fist against the wall. He hated the man on the other end. More than anything else. But he calmed his burning rage.
"Fine...I'll get you the stuff. Just make sure there isn't a scratch on her."
He shut down the comunicator and summoned B2 to the datacore of the base as he ran he thought to himself
"Is this the right thing to do? Where is the Templar?"
As he enters the massive core room. He sees B2 admiring the technology.
"Master! This computer, it's like nothing I've ever seen" the drone said
"Start downloading the core, I want everything." Responded Alexander.
"Of course master"
Alaxander reaches for his communicator and says to the unknown immortal.
"It'll be about 45 minutes before the download is completed, not a scratch!"
He closed the immortal's comm channel and contacts the Templar.
"Where are you Ouryon?"

Crownrule wrote:Galm Fae wrote:Galm shutters when the weapon hits the ground, pausing for a long moment as he loosens the pressure against the scientist.
"You'd... Risk yourself for another? It's one thing to fight for the person you protect, but to willingly accept that she is more important than you. Now there is a rarity I haven't seen in New Eden for a long time."
He not-laughs again, but his icey tone slowly trains off until it becomes a warm chuckle. It hangs on his lips like an old memory, and he finds himself smiling.
"So of all the people here it finally takes him to understand all this? Is that it? Not the star-eyed loverboy here, not some noble knight fighting for his empire... But the Templar sworn to defend. Now that is something."
He was hoping this would be an easy assignment. Above all else, he was hoping this would be an easy assignment. That he could get back into the mercenary world and have one more eventful mission where everything ended out okay. But the world was rarely so kind. His first sob came out unexpectedly, shaking Fae to his core as he madly tried to assess what had happened to him. Was he shot? Did someone stab him? No, his shields were reading fine. The second one was even more powerful than the last, enough cause him to double over and remove his boot from the doctor to support his weight.
When he looked up he didn't say anything. He didn't scream, shutter, or shout. To an outside observer, it would look like nothing happened at all. But behind his eyes and in his head Galm came face to face with his own brutality. He wasn't just holding the doctor hostage, he was holding his mother hostage. She stared back at him with the same fear in her eyes behind the barrel of his rail rifle. He shook his head and the figure shifted once again, becoming his father. He shook again and again, each time the figure shifting to a different familiar face. Gideon, Pavlov, Morgan, Bishop, before at last coming to rest.
Niina was staring right back in his face. The world reflected in her eyes, casting a glimpse of Galm in front of her. He saw himself in those sad, frightened eyes looming over her. The same soldier that had fought for the Templis, and the same soldier that had wrought terror for the Taskforce Command. The same soldier he had hoped to never see again.
He wondered, did she know that man? Would she recognize him?
To everyone else, Galm had gone mad. He was shivering now from head to toe, remaining completely silent as he backed away slowly from the doctor. His next words were horribly disjointed, coming out in chunks at a time rather than sentences as he begged for forgiveness.
"Th-- Rifle isn'-- No bullets in it! See-- Th-- Wasn't loaded! I would never-- Please! Please believe me, I wouldn't wa-- Wa-- This wasn't for me. Believe me, it was for us! This was always for us!"
He pulled the magazine from his weapon and held it out to her, eagerly attempting to force it on her. At first she recoiled, backing as far away from him as he could. Then it became apparent that he wasn't lying. The magazine had been completely empty the entire time he was holding her hostage. He had spent his last bullet on the team of rebels that were about to abduct her before having to resort to melee combat. She looked back at the crumbled mess of the person he had viciously bashed against a wall, asking herself how she could have been so stupid.
Galm looks down at the floor, incessantly shaking his head back and fourth.
"Please. Someone kill me. I don't want to watch this anymore. Please. Make it go away." "When this is all over mercenary, find me I will help you seek the help you need." Crown rule said as he pulled the trigger putting the bullet into the gallenteans head. Crownrule had quietly picked up his gun and snuck over to the man as he broke down, now he had shed a tear and knelt down and prayed silently. He stood up and lifted the doctor and carried her to the dropship. "Let's go captain she needs immediate medical attention." Crown rule told to the caldari. "I'll help her as best I can in the dropship so as to ease some of the pain alleviating in her body." Crown rule gently sets her down on the floor of the drop ship cutting her shirt off to better help her breathe. He begins to prod where her ribs would be. "Does this hurt doctor?" Crownrule asks knowing how obvious it is that it does hurt.
"One moment Templar"
Alaxander walks up to Galm
"I don't care what you think of my "bravery", and I shall oblige your request.
Alexander pulls out a bolt pistol and ends the madman before him.
He runs over to the dropship.
"Templar, you fly, I'll stay with the Doctor" |
