in other game there isnt anyone cloaked and rendered completely undetectable until youre dead. oh yeah, unless you sacrifice almost all of your ehp tanking abilities to detect a scout and praying that he/she isnt cloaked. the cloak takes too long to die off when switching to another weapon. if its a client issue then cool, ill switch to destiny and donate my isk to my corp mates. dust has become scout and heavy 514. logis and assaulters (dumb logis) are now just repping heavies. scouts are the invisible men that shoot you in the back in the middle of a full squad of your own people.
Dust is and has been broken for a while. Destiny is doing it better but not in a more complete way. Im honestly just waiting for The Division and Legion which im hoping will not suffer from the same problems. oh yeah QQ lol |

I miss bragging about how good I did in standard scout suits last year. Now it is just meh. Who cares anymore. 
My only regret is never becoming awesome with nova knives. My respects to the nova Knifing pros.

The shotgun is in need of a buff.....to hit detection. Once thats out of the way, QQ all you want. Until then, don't complain until you use it.

I've played a fair bit of World of Warcraft about 8 years ago up til about.. 5 years ago I'd say. They have a PvP section which I actively engaged in. While it is no FPS, the PvP bit comes down to the same thing: play strategic games with friends and random other people, get points for kills, communication wins the match, etc etc. There were several classes capable of stealth (Rogues, Cat Druids) and they were both able to sneak up on you and unleash hell without you knowing what was happening. Most of their opening moves involved a stun to your character for a good few seconds and if you, like me, played a magic-based class that ran around the world in nothing but a dress you soon found out stealthed Rogues 2 shotting you in a few seconds was just a part of the game. It was part of what their class did. No one cared. Sure, there were always people who thought it was a good thing to whine about it on the forums but those were always the ones who just got owned a few times in a row by the same stealthed people. They never really meant for the game to be balanced, all they wanted was to die less and be more awesome themselves.
My point being. You don't have to detect a scout. In fact, a player running a dampened scout has made it his sole job to stay undetected unless he chooses to be seen. Why exactly are you supposed to see him before he sees you? If you want to be able to see most, or all, scouts then you SHOULD be sacrificing all your EHP tanking abilities and run the risk of dying fast. Because, really, a dampened scout has only small amounts of health and will die fast as well once he loses his only advantage, i.e. the stealth.
Also, I don't quite understand why you would whine about a certain Dust aspect and then bring up another game. It's not relevant. If Destiny has characters selling corndogs in shady corners of a map, does it make a scout shotgun you less? If Final Fantasy online has a cave where you can hide from enemy PvP players, does it make your assault char in Dust reload quicker? No.. |

I'm not sure which recticle is best for finding scouts, but you should always check your six. I do even when I'm a cloaked scout.
A medium with a 10m tacne range is going to be in the optimal range of all light weapons bar the shotgun. So anyone with a std rifle can hose you down if you are not aware.
Having said that playing stealth shotgun fits (minimal eHP) is fun and using a breach is a blast :p

Destiny has cloaking (or at least it will for the Hunter's subclass) and you can get off the radar just by crouching. Oh yeah, there's shotguns too.
Why use one scout suit and be good at one thing when you can be a #Omniscout.

If you don't like dying to them, invest in their counter -- cal scout for now and likely amarr scout after charlie. Heavies usually have a good chance too with some situational awareness and sharp eyes/ears.
But really, you're right, and coming out of cloak and getting off a shot before being seen does suck. |

I brought up the other game because it is diverting dust players to something else. duh
for some reason the people in this forum are extremely topical and dont look below the surface.
As a logi im more focused on helping my team than killing damn near invisible people. im always looking at my tacnet but when im being shot and the culprit still doesnt show up on me tacnet thats an issue. not a gal scout, an am scout. thanks
bottom line. the class as it is today is op. which is exactly why we see so many scout slayers and very few medium fits. eventhough some of you dont like what im saying CCP knows that it screwed up. Why do you think that they are talking about giving the assaulters a buff.
oh btw. all opponents can eat my azz. just saying. lol
