Thought I will say the heavy suit itself is not the issue, its just the ridiculousness of the HMG. It can easily kill at range and its very very powerful up close.
Some maps do not allow for any range to be used to other players advantage against heavies....
No, HMG just has too much range, A boundless HMG up to 30m is doing more damage than proto assault rifle... The things range needs to be reduced. |

I've tried this, and i do not know how people do it. I always get frustraded because i have no clue how to do it. I toss my explosive like a frisbee and press the det button. 1/2 the animation plays and no boom. I was expecting an earth shattering kaboom! Not to mention sentinels can already tank res so there's that...
Sentinals do not have enough hps to tank a RE. I have been killed many times by these annoying frisbee's myself.
[Amen to this! Remotes have wrecked my plans many times. Even when I see them, I'm too slow to put distance between me and it. Cloaked shotguns have taken me out. Peekaboo tactics, even in close quarters, have done me in.
I've been out ranged by rail rifles, scrambler rifles, assault rifles, combat rifles, laser rifles, sniper rifles, potato rifles, spitball rifles, and any other rifle CCP has decided to throw into this game. I've even been out damaged by SMGs within my effective HMG range on a few occasions (go figure that one). Flux and shoot players have gotten me. Locus and shoot players have gotten me. Mass drivers have gotten me. Nova knives have gotten me. I've succumb to the Scrambler pistol dance of death, the MagSec two shot tango, the Flaylock BS barrage (back in its day)... etc, etc, etc...
I'm a level 5 (across the board) dedicated heavy. I do some other things, but heavy is my raison d'etre. I've been a heavy since I started this game over a year ago. I was a heavy when heavies weren't cool. And Dust is my first ever FPS, so admittedly I'm not as good as some others who have more FPS experience. I've been killed a lot of ways: some I understand, some still baffle me (I just chalk those confusing deaths up to bad game mechanics and move on). I'm not complaining about that...
...Though what I am saying with all of the above is: if you haven't found an effective way to outdo a heavy, have you tried turning your Playstation on? Myriad fatty slaying options open up to you once that little green light shines. Many good players have demonstrated this fact on me time and time again.] you are a terrible heavy Then you should have no complaints. Employ any of the aforementioned methods, and you should have no problem killing me or any of the other "terrible" heavies that fall victim to these same game play strategies. And all of this was said without the anger you were looking to incite. Nice attempt though, but you'd be better served putting that effort toward counter heavy measures.
Heavy + scout share vision= OP... Literally there is no draw back to heavy other than speed but who cares, they have 2000 ehp. Oh don't forget the .001 second killer, the death ray, the bane of newbs, the OP, the HMG. There is no counter to heavies for new people. |

The only true issue with heavies are the ****** maps. Most of all objectives are in cqc scenarios, making the "use range" argument total crap.
But since we have to deal with these stupid maps that force us into the heavies circle of death I honestly feel only one thing should be changed with the sentinel/hmg.
The hmg is a giant multi barrel gun so it should have a spool up time similar to the rail rifle. This would give medium frames/scouts an extra half second to react before being insta killed. And no, the accuracy increase after firing a bit is NOT the same thing. When I hmg I frequently kill scouts before the recticle starts to shrink. The spool up time would delay actual damage not just accuracy.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.

wait, they'll just keep tapping the fire button so the barrel is spinning and ready to fire whenever
I suggest reduce range to 17.5m and then reduce RPM from 2400 to chromosome 2000. |

This is true, similar to rail rifle, but at least they can't sprint while pre charging. Plus CCP could make it to where pre charging is bad, like it would actually increase firing time if it was constantly done. But we know CCP wouldn't do something that makes sense.
