I'm not a tanker but after using the gunnlogi and the madrugar it just feels to limited. We can all agree tanks are CRAP ( Other than missile ) So why not add ADV/PRO tanks so we can bolster tanking again. I miss back in the closed beta when some one called out a surya/sagaris we knew they meant business. Now? "oh.... theres a madrugar" *Pulls out forgegun*" Other than back then when me and my friends were like "OH ***** SURYA GUYS I NEED HELP * We all pull out av working together to take out the mastermind in the drivers seat. And tanking actually took skill.... What happened? Was this to help the new guys? This broke the game for me the most with tanking. Now its like "Activate 2 hardeners and your good" or " 3 passive reps" Back then it took planning to use a tank and tank 1v1s were amazing! Proper timing on your hardeners and your reps and well timed evasive maneuvers to secure your victory. And there was nothing like getting your ass kicked in a tank 1v1 or even managing to pull off a victory What happened to tanking? No one has to agree with me i'd like to hear your thoughts on the topic. From Tankers/Infantry/Pilots

As an omni soldier. There is nothing wrong with vehicles. Why? Because it takes a very particular loadout to kill me when it comes to infantry. And these loadouts have glaring disadvantages against other infantry.
Likewise what everyone ignores is the plethora of weaponry that is outright useless. I roll up in a tank and an infinite number of anti-infantry infantry with flux/locus grenades and rifles/shotguns cannot kill me, period. Tanks are not supposed to be invulnerable, they are just resistant or flat out invulnerable to most weapons. Same goes for LAV and dropships.
If proto and adv tanks appear on the battlefield I expect my proto av to shred militia and standard then like it would in all other engagement types of proto vs. std/mlt. In effect though, all that will happen then is that proto and adv will cost more while being roughly as effective as the current mlt/std tanks. So in other words, it's really not necessary.
We already saw what happens if tanks get buffed more in 1.7, we do not need to return to 2 tankers neutralizing half the enemy team with 14 other players in tow. They are fine where they are, do not screw this up for everyone. |

I don't think ADV/PRO tanks would be a good idea right now but to say current tanks are too powerful is just... just laughable. |

Dude, time is making your memories prettier. Those times were pretty awful with marauder total domination.
Also, a strict NO to the very idea of simple ADV/PRO tanks which are by all counts just better than the lower tiered one.
YES for specialized vehicles or other variants which bring weaknesses into the mix.
Those were indeed sad time when you saw a lesser tier tank and instantly new "that dude is easy prey as he just don't have enough SP to use better version. Let's pop him".
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

I very much miss the days of the Sagaris and the Surya, I remember I was one of the only few people in the game who got nearly 15K armor on a Surya. and I remember having my instakill Sagaris fitting with me that when I shot it took around 4K damage per shot, I was actually able to kill Bolas' in 2 shots, sure it couldnt take more than 2 hits but that was where my pilot skills came in and I instantly became a feared railgunner in long distances, medium range and close combat, I was one of the only railgunners who could kill 10 infantry in a row 10 meters away from my tank with my large railgun.
Oh the days of closed and open beta, "thy body has left this world but thy memory and actions will never be forgotten".

whos to say we have to follow the current standard of adding slots as you go up tiers? we dont.
we can have adv and pro tanks without adding slots.
we can alter the base stats, add bonuses, increased cpu/pg
i think people are just scared of the thought of tanks with 5 highs and 3 lows, and we dont actually have to go that route. |

Having borderline invincible Gunnlogis with prototype blasters sitting at your only spawn point that (can negate 40% of armor damage and regenerate shields incredibly fast) can not be killed and Pythons flying around literally the entire match isn't enough.
I have seen very little hope of actually killing a tank or gunship without putting an absolutely insane amount of SP into a skill that is only good for tanks and dropships or using the railgun turrets which are usually killed in two shots and have borderline 0 range to them. So please explain how making even more powerful vehicles could improve this absolutely wonderfully balanced game? |

All of the above is how I feel.
I am a significantly worse tanker since the Tankpocolpyse of 1.7 which ruined it for me as well.
I remember skilling into Soma's back in the day and getting my ass beat down every time I went onto the field because I didnt have 25% armour resists or Ion Cannon.
Was it fair? No, not at all, but it pushed me to get better.
I would grind SP out each week. Then I'd have 22% armour resists, Neutron Blasters, 25% resists, and finally Ion Cannon.
Then the game opened up and my fits were unique and viable and required all the skill and tactics I could muster.
Post 1.7 I put hardeners on my HAV an was unkillable.....bored out of my mind and slowly loosing any of the skills that made me a good tanker in the first place..... I just hate my stupid ass Gal and Caldari HAV.
I mean my claim to fame was destroying 3 Falchions on the single match with my Little Soma that Could....while flying the tormentor that was dropping our OB.
