For Scotty to stop putting me on the god damn teams that keep getting stomped and/or lose?! I got a damn .22 win/loss ratio and the game still puts me on the god damn losing teams.
It's like this damn game is coded to put stompers together and everyone else against them to suffer.

Can confirm, getting into a squad of 3+ people keeps me out of matches that are half over. Can also confirm that you don't have to actually participate in squad-play for a squad to benefit you. Case in point: your WP's contribute to OB's if you listen to the SL or not.
HOWEVER...

Teamwork is broken, nerf teamwork. Get into a squad with six people and just halfway work together. Find a SL that knows how to use squad commands to wreck up WP's. Die less, kill more, **** bitches, get ISK.

I shouldn't have to rely on being with other good players so that I end up on the winning and/or stomping side. I should be able to play solo and have the same experience in terms of stomping and getting stomped. Right now it's like I get stomped 3 out of 4 games and my team does the stomping 1 in 5 games. That's nowhere near balanced.

Yeah, run as a squad and you get put on the side that does the stomping more often. You'll still get put on the sh!tty team where your squad are the only people trying to win instead of jacking off in some corner but at least you have a better chance of not getting that team.
I still think they should pull the plug on Scotty so we can start getting more balanced matches like we used to but I must admit it makes me feel like I just might not be as bad as I claim to be when I'm sitting at #1 as the only guy with double digit kills & less than 5 deaths without being a sniper the whole match and having around 2k wps instead of barely breaking 500 wps like everyone else on the team.
Can't say I'm all that surprised.

Sorry but wether you like it or not, Dust is primarily a team base game. I cannot teach you how to solo games, it is a skill people learn on their own. Those people stomping you are in a squad, I can assure you of that. Very few people can solo carry their team. That comes with alot of practice, experience, and a bit of luck. Dust is far from being a balanced game so you have to make due with what you have. Instead of complaining, adapt to the game and how it works. Then you will see your win loss ratio improve.
Adapt or Die.

Gonna have to stop you right there. No, you shouldn't. Dust requires squads; it doesn't matter if you are with corpmates, people you met in a channel, or squad finder. This game stopped being a solo game the minute you left the academy.

Get in a squad is a good solution, but sometimes, I log on and only have time to play 1-2 matches. Sometime the wait for a squad brings that down to 0-1 matches. I also have a job that requires a lot of talking and have two daughters who love to talk, so sometimes, i don't want to be on a mic, I just want to play 30-60 minutes without hearing or saying anything. if ambush was squadless, the stomps would not be so bad. |

This game stopped being a solo game the minute you left the academy. First of all, I've played on this character for about a year now so I'm not "fresh out of the academy."
Second, are you even hearing yourself? You're basically saying that it's perfectly OK and intended for proto and non-proto squads to stomp players way below their skill level. I'm not a game developper but l think I can tell that that's a poor game design. Matchmaking needs to be balanced so that a squad goes up against similarly skilled opponents and also puts randoms against similarly skilled randoms.
I finished my playing today by going 18-0 (and 2000 WP) with my Python in my last battle (since I wanted to end on a good note). I felt guilty killing all those militia suits in one to two hits, but the guilt quickly passed because I've also been similarly stomped countless of times. Matchmaking needs much improvement.

Matchmaking needs to...
Stop players from being placed into matches that are nearly over This could actually be easily fixed with some clever coding... if Dust 514's player population was healthier.
Ensure squads are placed against other squads Meaning public contracts will not place two 6-man squads against a team with one 6-man squad and a bunch of solos.

Just leave the match. you don't have anything to prove.
When solo'ing you have the luxury to leave on a whim and que up and be in another match in a minute.
With a squad you have to grunt it out or all agree to leave.
start to learn names of the competition and write their names down on your list of revenge, Get your skills up, get your map knowledge down... learn some of your own tricks.. Then come back stronger.
Trying to run endlessly at a brick wall and then expecting it will just fall eventually will only leave your with a headache and still walking away.

that last one shouldn't be that hard. Seems they are populating the teams as people are added to the queue, rather than queue them until there 32 people and then populate the teams making sure to distribute the squads

More like welcome to one of the main reasons why this game flopped. I tried bringing other people into the game. They did well in academy, got relentlessly slaughtered by squads of skilled vets in proto gear for the first 4-5 matches out of academy and then refused to play the game. No one likes to play a game where they can only be other people's entertainment. I'd take a softer Eden to have more players. |

Welcome to DUST.
I sympathize. Of course joining a Corp and squadding up is a good way to improve your W/L ratio.
Short of that, you can always join a public squad at the beginning of the match, even if you don't have a mic. It's hit or miss, but sometimes you'll fall in with good players and taking your cue from them, amplifying what they do, you can get a lot accomplished.
I play solo a lot for similar reasons, and when I get stomped, at least I take some hostiles down with me. I love taking campers down, they collectively will get me of course, but they won't do so without getting a little hurt too!
