Zion Shad wrote: Lol of course I would throw my name in to it, I just won't be saying who else I'd be voting for. It would be Unfair to the candidates that I do not list. I do however want a diverse team were to pull many aspects and knowledge about the game. With 7 seats I believe we will have this.
Go to the link to read the full thing if you wish, but it was in my post to the community about voting for a team. Since then I have seen Endorsement list by other candidate's and though you have the right to do it, I feel you are already causing division in a CPM that needs to be a team more then ever. There is 20 candidates and these lists of 7 means you are alienating the 13 others(whether you know it or not) and it disappoints me that anyone running would do that. Please bare this as a warning if you are elected to work together no matter what and help this game grow instead of dying out.
What's done is done, but I wanted my view on it out there one last time and If Im a part of this CPM that soon to be announced Im saying now I will do my best to work with any team the community has chosen and I hold no ill feelings towards anyone (or any list).
Thank you

Voting is already over. Division or not CPM1 candidates have a right to have their voices heard. To discuss what they like in other candidates and what they do not like. The same right as every player on this forum has has. A right to voice their opinion and beliefs.
If this causes division after CPM1 is elected than that is just immaturity on their part and they do not deserve to be CPM1. There is a reason for a candidate starting age limit. If there is a civil war in CPM1 due to this silly endorsement than I truly feel sorry for this game. I would like to believe that candidates will be mature enough to get past their differences when it gets right down to it and would like to see how they plan to work together.

Much of what you have said should not have to be said. Alienating others? People should not be afraid to debate and express their opinion on candidates. You cannot make everyone happy.

At the same time many of the candidates have spent a lot of time working together, discussing things, sharing thoughts in threads, and generally getting to know each other both in and out of game. That being said, Candidates probably have the most informed view when it comes to the other candidates. That being said, it is not unreasonable that as a candidate, one releases a list of who they think would be best suited for the job. It's their way of saying "Based off of everything that I know, these are the people who I think are best suited for the job." In fact I know many of us *agonized* over picking 7 people because there were just so many good choices and being restricted to 7.
The fact of the matter is that most of the candidates are very professional and don't get hung up one something like an endorsement. If someone doesn't endorse me but we both make it in, I'm enough of an adult to not be butthurt about it because an endorsement is simply a matter of opinion and everyone is entitled to have their own. Their opinion of my abilities has nothing to do with my actual abilities, nor my willingness to work with them on a professional level. If anything, I respect others with ideas that differ from mine even more, because that's what leads to good discussion.
So to come out and say that me expressing a rather well informed opinion is 'alienating' other candidates is completely off base. The fact of the matter is that I picked my top 7 and told people why. If my number 8-14 make it in, I'm still happy because there are a ton of very talented people out there who will do a great job regardless.
If someone honestly feels alienated because they didn't make someone's Top 7, then they probably shouldn't be running in the first place. This is CPM, not MySpace.

Pokey nailed it.
I put out an endorsement list because my primary goal isn't "win a trip to Shanghai". My primary goal was "elect a great CPM". That doesn't just mean the seat that I want to fill, but that we get seven competent, communicative CPM members. So I endorsed the top six people besides myself I felt could fill those needs.
Note that I didn't do any sort of negotiation or politicking on this. My list was determined without any expectation of placement on other people's lists. It was straight up the best people for the job, in my fairly well-informed opinion, based on months of conversations with the candidates. It's not to say that the ones who did not make the list will do a bad job (with a notable exception or two), but that the ones I picked will probably do the best. Supporting them means supporting a better CPM. If I am elected, I'll do my best to work with each and every CPM member, and I have no ill will towards the people who left me off their lists. Most notably, Dennie and I had nearly identical lists, except he wasn't on mine, and I wasn't on his. I complimented him on an excellent list, even though I wasn't on it, because obviously we share the same taste in CPM candidates, since we both picked the same six. ;)
Furthermore, as an alliance leader, I was going to be putting out a suggested list anyways, as is common for alliances and corporations to do. Since you should assume everything you send to your alliance is basically public... it made no sense not to post it here as well.

This is not a personal attack on you guys its merely me saying that I don't feel any of your endorsements really held merit when you were working so closely and in contact with the other candidates.
To me it sounds more like an unspoken agreement on all your parts that you would endorse one another and drum up popular voter base by throwing all your names around a lot more.
I did not vote for that 1 CPM you mentioned but I wish more of you CPM could have stood on your own, like him, rather than grouping up as you did.

No, the CPM is chosen by the voters. Who endorses who has zero bearing on who people actually choose to vote for. No one is forced to listen to my opinion, no one is forced to follow my choices. So no, the CPM wasn't chosen behind to the scenes because the candidates are not the only ones voting. Or are you implying that voters don't have a mind of their own?

A candidates goal for the CPM and the voters are not the same. A dishonest and weak minded person may claim they are, but it is a lie at best and upright and erect ignorance at worst. The players I have spoken to want to elect a strong CPM. The Honest candidates I have spoken too want to elect a strong CPM with them on it. These are not the same.
My goal was to have a strong CPM with me on it. If this was not the case I would not have been a candidate. I did this because I really do know I can make a significant impact for the players as a member of the CPM.
Any player can publish an endorsement list. As can a candidate. I did not do one as it is a waste of time. The other candidates have spent a lot of time defining themselves. I would encourage voters to look at the candidate in full themselves first, not after I may have tainted their view in an opinion post about who I will vote for.
Tomorrow the chips will fall. There are words to be spoken between the elected.
N.B I wanted to make sure if the voting process changed, like PS3 support got better, I would be able to film it... If I voted I could not make a new video to help people as you cannot go through the process if you have already voted..and then I forgot. sad face,
