Were already seeing increased diabetes and other genetic diseases because the crap people eat is literally messing people up and their offspring.
I think I may already be affected by this. 23 Yr old male and I am beginning to learn that I can't eat certain things. For example, fast food. After eating a big mac, I just feel like passing out or fainting. Body parts would feel completely numb such as my arms and my hands. As a programmer, I am not the most active but I am not extremely over weight. I can run several miles without stopping, and lift weights on occasion. Could it be a sign of diabetes? Could it be a rapid change in blood pressure? I don't know but it usually happens when I eat something that is not good for me.
I have always had a sensitive stomach and another thing is that I cannot handle acidic foods. There was a time in my life where I threw up every morning for a year from overproduction of acid in my stomach. If I stay away from spicy or acidic foods for 1-2 weeks I could probably eat something a little less bland for a single meal. One thing I noticed was that the state of my health improved once I began eating more home cooked meals, but I already know that I will never be the same again. (dietwise).

I do software testing but my metabolism has always been high so I naturally don't gain fat but smoking is my poison. My buddy who was in the same predicament and started juicing and changed his diet. He went from about 21 stone down to 14 which is perfect as he is 6ft. He designs websites and does coding himself as well.
I'd defo go to the doctors if I was you. I found out that I'm sensitive to caffeine so I had to cut down on tea. My metabolism sees more caffeine being entered into my bloodstream at a quicker rate than most people.
So I'm not literally sensitive to caffeine, its just my metabolism. I don't know wtf they put in fast food but if I eat that before exercise, I feel like passing out or a lack of energy very quickly.
I'd put that down to our bodies struggling to digest that crap and so we spend more energy digesting it than what we gain from it I reckon.
My gf was also on her way to bring overweight but she's lost a lot.
If you are thinking "where the fk do in start though?" Like my gf was then I'd suggest going to a gym and getting a personal trainer and do what she did, she literally saidvthat she wants to look good and be healthy. A trainer will know precisely what will be good for you.
Straight up running is bad actually if your not used to exercise but you sound much like my mate, healthy but overweight and at the tipping point.
I don't know what your confidence is like on the matter but a lot of overweight people worry about what others might think up the gym, no one cares and anyone up the gym will secretly be hugging you in their mind if they see you doing something about it.
My mums side of the family has a hereditary thing with a blocked left ventricle and only in the men so naturally, I'm fairly terrified of that. Its something to do with the dairy products.

Chili is also really good for you, preferably home made.
I take a tablespoon if I'm hungover. It actually settles your stomach. Recent scientific studies have shown that its actually good for your stomach. There's nothing in chili that actually burns anything. Its just the signals it sends your brain because it doesn't want to be eaten.
Then our brain says 'fk you, this sht is good' and sends enforphines around our bodies. That's why we like it at the same time.
A lot of processed and take away food rots in our stomachs much like white bread, that was probably the source of your discomfort. Preservatives are the stomach Raper.

But yeah John, its tough, even for a 'regular' sized bloke like me. Our bodies crave fat for a winter that isn't coming and hasn't since we have had homes and clothes.
You will literally be fighting your own body and genetics and anyone who says its easy is talking sht. After seeing what my gf went through and turning vegetarian myself, quitting smoking ain't got sht on this.
Good luck mate.

Ah I'm not cool enough for that yet, I'm just a scrubby software tester. I'm good with hardware but that's small fry lol.

It is not that difficult, the hard part is keeping yourself motivated. Must always be willing to learn new things and expand your knowledge. I don't see many programmers going very far at all unless they have a passion for it. Back in college 90% of my class dropped out of programming because they did not have enough passion to keep on trying. I found it easy and entertaining. (not because I am a genius) but because I just like doing what I do. It just all boils down to practice and if your hobby reflects your career... it will only help you advance that much more.
For example I know how to program for android but if I don't keep reading about sdk updates and new os features and programming styles. My knowledge will be out of date in a few years unless I continue to learn.

Yeah defo, I don't have a passion for it like you and my mate does.
Iv seen him coding and the code resembles what he's creating and iv seen some hilarious logic that he puts into it, the choice of words are sometimes just plain toilet humour but its legitimate lol.
