Guys the scanning needs to stop. I'm a two year veteran (this is obviously an alt) and I've just noticed that scans don't need to be in the game. At all. Look at all of the other FPS games that don't have scans. I mean if you see a strawberry and they move away the red indicator can still be there for a short time but I'm talking about just moving around as a scout and just seeing all of the enemies that are around you. It's just ridiculous.
YOU SEE EVERYONE ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Think about it.
You shouldn't see all of the enemies on the other side. Of course it's great to have if you're the one using it.
But really, we're trying to find the enemy. Not just walking around and "WHOP" a red circle pops up on your radar unless you're looking at it. I don't know it's just with passive scans the enemy will know where you are unless you use dampeners which takes up a slot or two. It would be considered hacking/cheating to other games using aimbot trainers because you know where everyone is. Just a thought I'm not proposing or anything. I know nothing's going to change because Dust 514 has full involvement with scans. Just a heads-up with Legion: You can play a game without scans. When I first used complex scans while using complex precision modifiers, I saw about 13/16 players of the other team... You could say you saw almost all of the enemies on the other side. Scans also complicate suits with scout's suit boosts changing.
I'm not QQ. I know what I'm talking about with valid reason.
Again just a thought. We would do fine without Passive and Active Scanning systems.
P.S. We would have done fine without Caldari Scouts (and/or Amarr scouts) in general.

LOL players like you also contributed.
"One does not simply" run like a Raptor. Only Mk.0 Scouts will do that.

So your reasons for demanding the removal of central game mechanics in dust and/or foregoing their implementation in legion amount to:
1. Other games don't do it like that. (wrong, Blacklight: Retribution has a built-in active scanner+ wallhack for everyone)
2. The game/s could technically do without it. (which is invariably true for everything safe for the most basic movement and shooting mechanics)

But EVE EVE has scanning
To deny dust scanning would be like ignoring EVE has scanning. I don't believe EVE and Dust are the same game but seriously they're the same server....
Also most people whom be butthurt about scanning don't appear to be dampening....

Dust already rewards running HP modules over anything else. "Slayer" Scouts are stacking shields and brick, not biotics and ewar.

The most popular FPS's atm (cod and BF) also has it. Just thinking about it, many games has it, and those versions are much stronger. |

Yeah... -1 Calls a mechanic that has only been used widespread in Uprising for a few months a "central game mechanic".

And have been virtually out-of-service since the end of Chromosome. Since the game functioned great without them, they are not a "Central Mechanic".
The "Installations" tab in the marketplace was there for over a year, completely unused. Doesn't mean it was "Central".
