Day 1: Huola Burns
I suppose it wasn't all that much of a surprise when the summons came in from the Admiralty, the mutterings were amongst us lower tier officers that preparations were being made for a mustering of the Classiarii. We all knew what it meant, mandatory CTA's came few and far between amongst our order, the Admiralty preferring to direct our small scale operations to specific high value targets.
We had been stationed aboard the Archon Class Carrier TES Eternal Flame almost a week before we were called to muster on the Command Deck. The Command Deck itself was a awash with light of a dozen braziers, Classiarii and Miles stood side by side forming ranks, clad in the ceremonial armour, dutifully awaiting our orders. So it was we were greeted by the holographic forms of Lord Admiral Shaikar and Captain Raphael Ordo. The Lord Admiral addressed us of the importance of our task, spoke to us of the purpose our order was formed.
It was at that point we were informed of the large scale attacks that were being launched against the Matari stronghold of Huola. Fleets from numerous Militia aligned corporations, most notably WINMATAR, J4LP, AVNG, had laid the system besieged having established numerous POS structures within the system.
We Classiarii were tasked with aiding the planet side invasion forces, as well as the establishment of fortifications along the front lines with the intent to hold the line against enemy counter attacks.
We were dismissed and told to quickly make preparations as we saw fit. With that I saw fit to send out several messages. The first to my long standing patron and brother in arms Soren Tyrhanos regarding the status of the fleets, however I was informed that his communications protocols were in lock down due to a mission of critical importance.
The other to Satja wishing her well with her studies in the Mandate.
It wasn't several hours passed that I received this communication
Soren Tyrhanos wrote:My apologies Templar Ouryon, I had been deployed to Huola as an arm of the Praetoria. The brutality of this conflict knows no bounds....the scale of it its beyond anything I have encountered in my time as a capsuleer.
We have suffered initial losses of our heavy cruiser fleets to the Matari aggressors, and they have taken control of a number of Large Military Complexes throughout the system. However J4LP continues to engage them and hold them.
However we have made significant gains having destroyed every Destroyer and Frigate fleet they have sent against us. For every Large Complex they take we take twice that many in Small and Noivice and the same again in the Medium Complexes. We crushed any Matari that dared oppose us though we lost many ships, we destroyed many times our own numbers no thanks in part to the skill and vigilance of our logistical pilots.
Control Tower Gheinok I has been established under the watch of Captain Ordo and myself and is being stocked as we speak. PIE Inc alongside its allies has entrenched itself in system for the duration of the Siege.
