On a dropship it's way to high when colliding with objects. Landing a dropship can take out a fifth of your health.
On an LAV it's SUPER Bull. I was in a match with my LAV buds and we were killing people, as usual. But a couple of friendly tanks got pissed that we were taking kills. They decide to start ramming us. If an LAV is in motion, it's an instakill. One of them rammed me as I was parked and I wasn't instakilled but I started taking damage regardless. So if I don't move I'm doomed and if I do I'm doomed. I tried for a window of opportunity but all I did was tap the R2 to try and turn about and instakill. It's completely and utterly wrong that attempting to drive away from a butthurt teammate destroys your vehicle instantaneously. If you turn a blind corner and OH **** there's a friendly HAV hit the brakes, because you are holding L2 it's instakill.
It's a common tactic. We're in an LAV, we're circling them, shooting them and everything, outmaneuvering their tracking speed, then they just say "**** it" put on the nitro, and back up into us. They take maybe a hundred or so points of damage while we take it in the thousands.
HAVs take hundreds of points of damage while LAVs and DS take it in the thousands? How is that not biased? Even if HAVs took it in the thousands they could survive! It wouldn't be a problem. Either lessen DS and LAV damage or, if CCP does not see an issue with their collision damage for some reason, bump up HAV collision damage to stop butthurt tankers and crappy tactics.

Dropship collision is ridiculous mainly against shields. I bump something in my Python and lose half my shields (+1500) while I can crash land in my Incubus and not reach armor (950). The collision damage was actually good during 1.7, but for some reason in 1.8 it got changed.
Honestly, LAVs should be destroyed when being rammed by a tank, but currently it's if an LAV gently nudges a tank it goes up in flames. I agree some fixes should be done. |

OK but in my story, my true story, the butthurt teammate rammed us with his tank. I don't think that butthurt v teammate should result in a win for the butthurt.....

The collision stuff I think should not exist for allies in Public contracts. That should be included in the friendly fire ban. As it stands all it takes is one douchebag griefer on your team to jump in a tank at the start of a match and ram every LAV and Dropship that gets called down after them.
It's literally just a grieving tool. If you want friendly fire, go to FW or PCs, public contracts are supposed to be the game mode without friendly fire. Its one thing in pretty much any other FPS where you killing me or destroying my vehicle has no consequence. But in this game suits/vehicles cost isk which takes time or aurum which takes actual money. Grieving is especially frustrating for this reason. That's why most persistent style games have steep anti-grieving measures. |

+1 However HAV collision is also BS on the occasion, I have lost 50+ proto tanks even a couple in PC to rolling down a hill and being insta killed

Actually I've been running from OP AV and had dumbass friendly LAV's crash into me drop me by 1000+ HP and slow me down.

I'm going to the objective, minding my own business, when all of the sudden an HAV backs up into us because he got all panicky! He took out 3000 points of HP and only took just over 1000

Yeah, I saw this happen to a redberry dropship that had just landed. Utterly ridiculous. A freaking LAV takes less damage than a dropship, it just doesn't make a lick of sense. And said LAV can easily ram the DS and drive away, killing it like it was a joke.
And I hear you on landing those things, though it's usually way worse with shield DS. Armor isn't too bad, might lose my shield but still maintain my armor. In my shield dropship though, ALL of my shield and part of my armor will disappear if I land just like I would in the armor version.
This has been brought up several times, and I do not believe a dev has addressed this as the issue that it is!

However I do like the idea of ramming other HAV to deal damage......

Are you belittling me? I don't speak of jihad jeeps because they are not a problem I have. In fact I've had Jihad jeeps come after me, in my methana It's pretty crazy IKR but I can outrun them and have my gunner dispatch them. But yes, even Jihad Jeeps are a problem because people actually try and use them against other LAVs.
