Some people have bought solid state drives to improve game performance.

I can't say how taxing it exactly is but I'm fairly certain this is one of the most poorly optimized games on the PS3 so it's got to be pretty damn taxing.
Can't say I'm all that surprised.
I've been drinking and may be drunk.... probably like most dust players.

Dust loads a bigger environment than what we play on... because stuff... So id think it's a heavy game.
Also the PS3's really good CPU but crappy graphics chip doesn't help much in the way of rendering a lot of crap on screen.

Well considering that Dust can render a top down view of the entire map in 3D....and you can see things across the map without them being blurred or fogged out like other games.

The only time I see any lag in DUST is when a team puts a few dozen nanohives and uplinks around the supply depot in that labyrinth map...

I did not have any issues with a normal HDD to begin with, but an upgrade to a Hybrid drive did amazing things to Dust Recommends it not just for Dust, but the PS3 in general. |

Does that graphics chip have anything to do with the resolution , rendering and looks of graphics ..??.. because I can look at games like Two Souls , The Last Of Us and Heavy Rain among others titles and say that you are wrong .
Personally I get tired about people laying the blame on Sony when they keep turning out games like Mass Effects and such ... I mean , what the hell type of games do you play and what the frack are you looking at ???
Some of those games look like a CGI movie and people keep talking about graphics on the PS3 not being good .
That's a joke and a excuse for a poor work habit and environment .
If other companies can do it , it can be done .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

I'll say this, if it was even a tiny bit more resource expensive than it is now your PS3 would catch on fire. |

K/D(r) WP/D(r) matchmaking fixes the whole game. Period.

Just to add, iv come to notice that performance is based more on how good your internet connection is. I get smooth smooth frames on a fiber diet but **** on my normal (through the phone line) connection. Calling it a bigger environment than we can play on is the understatement of the year.
The size of the environment that it loads is absolutely massive. Dwarfs anything else you'll see in PS3 shooters

Different kettle of fish, the environments loaded in those games are relatively small compared to dust. Means they have better effects loaded in a smaller space.

It seems like dust is very load intensive on the ps3. I have started to play destiny and my ps3 doesnt even break a sweat running it.
