I bet you're annoyed by remotes used as grenades?
Instead of nerfing the throw (which is crucial in AV work) ask for further nerf in activation delay.
Activation delay, the earliest possible moment the new RE can be detonated. Has no effect on AV work but HUGE impact in using them as unavoidable death frisbees!

Well they are not silent.
They only sound exactly like the same as any deployed equipment so EQ spam nests are particularly vulnerable.

It's annoying looking up the stairs to see a player place it at his feet at the top but then blow everyone to smithereens when it was actually chucked to the bottom. Yeah, this is crap. REs should not be throwable, not in the manner they are now. If you want to equip throwable explosives, there is a name for those. They are called grenades. If you want to keep your frisbee REs, then fine. Make them visible like grenades and all other pieces of enemy equipment on the battlefield -- outlined in red for all to see.
Hold your horses. Without some throw distance it is virtually impossible to set REs on a tank - and if throwing goes so does one method of AV.
Grenades ARE different.

Scanner (which show R.Es) only work in squads, and you can't destroy it, because it may kill the blues. It's a lose lose. You just get to sit there and watch your blues die.
PS. If theirs a safe way to disarm remotes, I'd like to know about it. I think a locus grenade will disarm them, but I'm not sure if they just fizzle out or go with a bang. Anyways, I don't see a problem with remotes being thrown. it sucks to get killed by one, but then again, in order for that to happen a scout has to get pretty close to you, and at that point, you would already be dead if the scout had a shotgun or nova knives.
Any weapon will make it go bang. There is no unexplosive way of disarming a RE - maybe CCP could have a look at that? (...hacking it out? ...Flux to disable it without explo?)
Anyways, my suggestion of improving the timer improves the time to kill the said scout before he gets to detonate. Any extra time gives better options to shoot the RE safely, especially if the user was killed.
Of course it's not a 100% SURE way of not getting RE'd like that - but we are not looking for that rather than a more balanced gameplay where both can happen.
