You whiny bastards finally got what you wanted didn't you?
Well for the love of God, leave us alone now. We already have a hard enough time as it is. You're dead wrong if you think a heavy is invincible and easy mode. We're constantly afraid of rifles.
Now we're going to get torn up by Rail Rifles at 50 meters instead of 70. This nerf is gonna make life even harder than it was on the heavy.
To quote Rattati, we need to make small changes and observe the results before going too crazy on things.
You just had to come on here and QQ "I can't get close enough to a heavy!" You're not SUPPOSED TO GET CLOSE. You're supposed to engage us from range. You shouldn't expect to dance in front of your faces like leprechauns and not get your asses blasted to kingdom come.
I can already see the scouts moonwalking 50 meters in front of me and Charlie isn't even out yet.

Literally the only way to defend ourselves from some jackass with a rifle who wants to stare us down from a stone's throw range will be not to engage them at all.
This is just squeezing the heavy into a tighter box than he's already in, and it's not right for you people who don't even play a heavy full-time to harp on us like this.
Have fun defending yourself against enemy scout SPAM (oh no, that's not a word used just for heavies?) when your heavies are getting slaughtered by no-scoped Rail Rfles.

.... I think I was confusing optimal range with effective range the whole time, and effective range with absolute range.
This is what happens when you stop playing the game for a couple weeks. You come back and everything is so complicated and confusing...
I even had the wrong numbers in my head. I was confusing the Assault's range with the regular HMG.
Sorry everyone... this thread was a mistake on my part.
