I spoke with one of the best active heavies and he told me you could fire almost 400 rounds before overheat even if it was a 25% reduction if you can't kill an opponent in 250ish rounds you should re-evaluate your skill.

Even if a Minmatar assault were to use a Six Kin ACR and not miss a shot he would still have to reload against a stacked Gal Heavy.

Literally the only way to defend ourselves from some jackass with a rifle who wants to stare us down from a stone's throw range will be not to engage them at all.
This is just squeezing the heavy into a tighter box than he's already in, and it's not right for you people who don't even play a heavy full-time to harp on us like this.
Have fun defending yourself against enemy scout SPAM (oh no, that's not a word used just for heavies?) when your heavies are getting slaughtered by no-scoped Rail Rfles. I've been running assaults for a very long time now and while I did briefly skill out of them to proto out my logi so that I could have a useful non FoTM role I will have enough SP to take my mini assault to Proto by Sunday night at the latest and will enjoy wrecking scouts if properly buffed in Charlie and it's not like scouts aren't being spammed like crazy already.
If he's a stones throw away I'd say you either have one good arm or he's in CQC.
