I don't know about you, but I have never found another FPS that offers the same intensity level or emotional impact as the battles of Dust 514.
I was thinking that since we have so many demands and requests, perhaps we could organize ourselves into focus groups and deliver meaningful communication to our CPMs, so that they don't have to sort through all of the nonsense that is posted on the forums.
Just because CCP announced legion and virtually abandoned Dust 514, doesn't mean that it has to be dead. We can rekindle our relationship with CCP. We can drive new products that they could sell to us and we can essentially do the market research for them by delivering lists of the products we want and how much we would be willing to pay for them. If their business model failed for Dust 514, we could help them improve it. We are a community of many talented and brilliant thinkers. We don't always agree, but I'm certain that we could design a system of feedback where our diverse needs could be represented effectively and decided upon without excessive deliberation.
We need to request that our CPMs illuminate what is really happening and gain some transparency into how we could empower CCP to make money on Dust and the exact steps they can follow to improve the game to give us precisely the experience we are driving toward. We need to present this information clearly and to provide as much technical detail as we can.
Let's bring it back around and not give up on it. People effect change, so let's develop a more cordial and ambitious relationship with CCP and usher in a new era for Dust. Let's change how gaming communities work with companies and spearhead a more integrated approach, leveraging a tightly knit crowd sourced platform of volunteers. There are lot of people who care about how the game evolves and those are the exact people who would be determined enough to work through any snags preventing us from meeting our goals.
If we truly appreciate what we have, then we must let them know that it deserves another look and a new modus operandi.

There are a great many games out there that are tons of fun to play. The primary difference for me was that dust was for the ps3 and was free. Destiny is great! and there is tons of content already in the game. Titanfall is a lot of fun and very fast paced. COD and BF are fun but not so great. If CCP wasn't such crap dust could have been a real mover and shaker but CCP can't code for the PS3 worth a dam so dust is slowly going to die. I still play here and there but i know the game is not going to get new content and its just going to die a slow death as resources are diverted to other projects so its no longer really worth my time. I play it mostly to stay awake at night when i have to work a night shift the next day. |

Also to the OP. you must be new here. CCP does what they want with little to no regard to the fanbase. Did you not hear about fanfest? Do you not know about the large restructuring and diverting of resources CCP has made? This all happened when the playerbase was still excited to hear more news about Dust and were expecting more new content. Just look at MAG they still had a great following when they pulled the plug. So if you think that CCP actually gives a dam about its player base just take a look at their history of debacles and ask yourself "Did CCP ever actually learn any lessons at all?" |

Companies respond to incentives.
If we can show them why their business model failed for Dust, and show substantial evidence that they can make some real money on the game, then I see no reason why they would not pursue further development.
Simply because their idea failed, doesn't mean that the project has to end.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Yea you are very new here. The optimisim is nice but i can assure you CCP does not care. CCP can't code for the PS3 worth a dam and they are not interested in learning how to. This is why they have no plans to do anything that requires a client side update now. Which means no new content at all for the game. This also means the stuff they pulled out is not going to be coming back any time soon if ever. I wouldnt even spend a penny on this game at this point because CCP is not going to work on the game, they are simply going to do server side fixes from now till they pull the plug. I am betting if legion makes it to open beta that around that time dust will turn to dust. CCP is a very decietful company. Just before fanfest they started to sell omega boosters, the same fanfest where they announced legion and then shortly announced diverting resources and then that they would no longer be doing client side updates. SO they basically tempted players into buying omega boosters for the game collecting pretty good money for said boosters then let everyone know what their real intentions with dust are.
CCP is very deceitful and honestly people giving them money at this point are being fooled. Don't let their smooth talk fool you. If you stand here on the soap box and petition for them i suspect you are being paid off by them because nobody with any knowledge of what has transpired would encourage people to spend money with CCP. |

Of course I'm detracting from the OP. OP was horrible. Literally anything would have been better than what the OP had to offer.
The OP was so bad in fact that the street fighter movie was actually better. Hence, I took it upon myself to upgrade the thread before everyone screwed it up again.
Now, as you guys have pretty much doomed any chance this thread has of being even remotely interesting, I shall take my leave for greener pastures. |

Gotta admit that while Dust isn't offering me anything at the moment it did catapult me into FW and the FW war on a much larger scale.
Actually seeing what you are fighting for in Dust through the eyes of an EVE pilot makes it all worth while.

Keep the base variants of the racial rifles and do away with the variants, and keep the ADS's and new weapons such as the PLC.

Ok so who in here was the CCP rep that i apparently attacked? I got a nice semi formal warning for "attacking a ccp rep" So since i have not mentioned any ccp reps by name i assume the OP is a CCP rep in disguise. Well that or ccp is starting to get sensitive about players informing other players of the garbage that CCP has done. It would be one thing if i was actually making things up but I dont need to make stories about CCP to prove how poorly ccp treats the playerbase.

We all must realize. PS3 is dead. It was in a deathrattle when DUST "launched". PS4 was announced, and it was going to x86. Core will die with the PS3, because it is a betamax of the new millennium. Who among you even knows what betamax is? Noone, figured as much.
Save your pennies DUST players. Legion will come to consoles once CCP irons out the deal with SONY and/or Microsoft. Because PS4 and XBOX1 are the same thing as a PC, and XBOX1 even has a bastardized version of windows 8 running it. So do not despair, rejoice in the fact that Legion will usher in the next generation of this game. Much like the removal of classic client did for EVE. |

Lol the best battles I've had were in Resistance 2. Unfortunately, SONY decided to shut down the servers a few months back.
Dust was second place. Not a close second, but not too far behind either.
Resistance 2 was more stale since there weren't any classes and no customization, but the gameplay was far superior to Dust along with map design. |

I'm game, because, be it my optimism or the fact I truly love Dust for all it's infurtatins and kinks, I feel the things we've done in Dust can truly aid Legion. As for the CPM address and such, Should we have a Chat Channel made? In that way, If you have something to say to the CPM, you can have a very long convo, and the community can also play through any problems while doing it. A CPM could squad up with a group of players, go into a match, get Proto Stomped, show that Tiered Gear, some sort of better matchmaking is extremely needed.
Shall I make it? If so, the Chat will be called what?
