Some events cater to newer players and some events cater to the vets. Not everything is fair and balanced in life. Public match is a public match. You don't have the balls to carve yourself out of the mayhem, then you shouldn't be here. This game is difficult for the new player, yes. Can it make you into a better player? Yes. Go hard or Go home. |

Go hard or Go home. That would be great if this game was like COD, where level/experience isn't everything. But this isn't COD. This is DUST 514. I don't care how bad the 15 mil player is and how good the 1 mil player is. The 15 mil player will win EVERY TIME. In fact, playing something like this will only make you WORSE, because you are getting less ISK/SP a match, and you are more likely to ragequit DUST 514 entirely.
I'm confused by the 15 mil bad-1 mil good, 15 mil wins everytime thing.
Really its on the players. Games weren't always a hand holding easy experience back in the days. It's on the player to keep on going. Luckily for them, they have passive ISK so if they want to come back after a rage quit, they can. With the ability to skill up higher.
Dust 514 has made me a better player in FPS. I go to COD just for kicks and wreck faces without even ADSing. Just a strafe shuffle and hipfire wrecks fools. Dust can make you a better player.
But besides the point, CCP carries out various events. Destructive data mining. Now how could newer, lesser lifetime accrued SP players be helpful in that? I'm pretty sure another event will come along that includes everybody else. The new players will be alright if they stick with it. |

There's just about nothing a newer player can do. In COD, you can kill a prestige 10 player in your first game. Good luck killing a 45 mil player in your first game on DUST.
COD is a twitch shooter. Dust is not, its more strategic. If you approach Dust with COD tactics, you get wrecked. There's much a new player can do. I've seen new players get recruited into good corporations because of the potential they present. In Dust, it requires you to think. Dust is more like Chess whereas COD is just checkers. COD is not even on the same level as Dust as far as how you can customize your avatar.

Then you blob with other people instead of being a try hard. That's a strategy in itself. You shouldn't be pursuing opponents who are tougher than you and you shouldn't be rolling solo like its COD where one person can be the supreme god who rules and wins the match.
In your HUD, when you look at opponents, information pops up telling you what you have in your sights. It's stronger than you are, run! There's no shame in that. The violins needs to stop playing.
