What is the hard counter to heavies in CQC-Medium range? Scout with SG is not a hard counter because it fails more than it succeeds. |

A hard counter? A forge gun - but only if you are a good shot. Even then these days some proto heavies have such ridiculous armour and EHP values that they tank a forge round. And if there is more than one, hope to god that they are in a narrow corridor otherwise you might as well put that forge gun away.
I'm thinking it might be time to go up to level 5 Forge proficiency.
Otherwise they really do not have a solid counter I don't think. At least not when you are in a zone where you cannot pull range on them.

I mean its the same argument of "What's a hard counter to Snipers?" Either you use the same thing, or you move into a range at which the enemy is weapon and fight them there. In the case of HMGs you stay far away, or in the case of snipers you move in close (redline aside)

ooooh I got it.
Hard Counter is a proto Amarr Heavy with a Proto Burst HMG. This will kill pretty much any sent out there even if they have Logi support.

Submachine Guns aren't a medium range weapon either. If if the Heavy is using an Assault variant then you're SOL. Proto I-Assault SMG still out ranges the Boundless.
This vaguely reminds me of the discussions when boosting Sidearm weapons were being countered essentially with, "Light weapons should be better than Sidearms."

True, but I'm not sure lacing a jeep with explosives is the best way to take down a HMG Heavy... They're likely to just blow you up instantly... Then again if you want to give people a fair chance, so be it. |

Doesn't help that the Caldari Sentinel resists all the weapons you listed there. -10% from the Laser weapons meaning its only taking +10% after shield penalty, and then the grenade its going to resist 25% of it from skill and another 20% from shield bonus.
Like my ideas?

So it's balanced that you need a sniper to kill a sniper but not that you need an HMG to kill an HMG?

So assuming 6 shots including charge for a total of 4x ScP, 2x HS and 10x ScR, 2x Charged we're looking at about 800 raw damage from the pistols and about a thousand from the rifle.
A CalSent has a maximum EHP when fully brick tanked of about 1550. Its defenses are primarily shields; you'll be dealing at least 105% to those at minimum.
Either you're not as good a shot as you imply or you're grossly over exaggerating. Considering your attitude to heavies, even when it's pretty obvious scouts are problematic - but they're fine, aren't they. It's heavies that are the reason no-one plays mediums, isn't it...?

depending on the lvl of hmg a lr in medium - long for me...or i may just rofl stomp em with my own heavy....or scouts sg...
and if the mighty and op scout shotty fails for you then u must just be bad at it..because its so brokenly op lol
