You'd do well against anyone who isn't good with a k/b and mouse.
You get much more reaction from smaller, simpler gestures on a k/b and mouse than out of a controller.
If you would like to test it yourself, try planetside 2 or any other game that supports controller and duel a PC gaming vet, you'll get two shotted in the head before you can even react.
Granted though, you'll have no problem vs k/b and mouse newbs.
Be vigilant!, for there are those that remove the teabag BEFORE adding milk!.
This is unacceptable!.

Yes and it may take a while, always set up the buttons to suit you and get an 18 button gaming mouse. I only have to use the keyboard for walking/strafing.

Yes and it may take a while, always set up the buttons to suit you and get an 18 button gaming mouse. I only have to use the keyboard for walking/strafing. I disagree. These 18 button atrocities are called "MMO" mice for a reason. There's no real need for one as an FPS player unless you have a fetish for mapping every weapon and trivial action to the mouse (which there's no need to). I'd even go as far and say that the extra buttons are a distraction when you want to get into m/kb at first. OP, keep it simple before you are well accustomed with the device and understand your preferences. Also don't let yourself talked into buying some $100+ "gaming" mouse . Any average rodent for half of that (or less) will work just fine and it will take a long time before you can appreciate the "features" of the high end stuff.
Yeah I used to think the same though.
My buttons are on the side so I can use my thumb to reload, use, jump or ability. I can also turn my sensitivy up and down like a volume switch. So for example, I turn it down a bit for a sniper.
Nice assumption as well BTW. Been playing fps since they came out, literally.
And the mouse was -ú39.99.

So I was right that you do have substantial experience and know your preferences very well. What we're talking about is preference here of course and I wasn't trying to attack yours. I'm just saying that many people get along without the extra buttons very well and that simple 6-8 button mice a have lower learning curve attached to them. TechMechMeds wrote:And the mouse was -ú39.99. I wasn't referring to your advice but to the manufacturers who, for example, advertise 7200dpi mice as necessary investments when in reality pretty much all users settle with 1000-3000dpi (FPS pros go down to 400 sometimes). As with all gaming products, there's a lot of voodoo going on in their advertisements and one can save hard cash by not "buying" it. Literally.
Ah fair play.
Its a ridiculous 16,400dpi at max. I don't know why the fk anyone would need that much lol.
I am high, sorry lol.
