Read up on Tranquility. CCP's Mega server cluster.. There are only a couple that are even comparable in the world and they are for hardcore tech companies databases.

Well if its so damn great they need to speak with ps2 creators and find out how they are getting 1080p with 60fps without all that military hardware. Not to mention 100s of mercs in a battle.

Yah they changed the forum and website redundancies a long time ago.. They shouldn't go down unless the main databases do. Before(the old days) anytime the server would hiccup the websites and forums would go down.... makes paying you bill a pain in the ass ;)

You do understand planetside 2 splits everyone into individual servers? max you get on a PS2 server is like 6k players these days. here lemme get you a link.. Cuz I'm allergic to bullshit and ignorance. http://sirisian.com/planetside2/population.php Even in the PEAK of PS2 with all like 8 individual server clusters running they had 25-30k players. on a completely new free to play FPS game on the computer. Planetside 2 splits you up from east to west... all over the place... DUST put's everyone from all over the world into a PC battle at a pretty competitive state... Far from perfect.. But pretty impressive. The Voice comms alone are better quality then Some teamspeaks when talking to someone from Germany... Yes CCP Shanghai should feel ashamed(Community team, Rattati aside) about some of the unfinished, unpolished and uncomplete things they implemented into DUST and then left broken for extended periods of time. But Tranquility is something every gamer should support, it has pushed every developer to try and deliver what CCP has for years. And putting everyone together in one massive single shard universe is what CCP is renown for and years ahead of any competition for having the ability to even deliver. PS2 is done old school and simplistic when compared to EVE. Don't ever get that twisted for a second.

It will be sad when Chromesomes numbers will be double that of Planetside 2 on the PS4. because it doesn't even do that right now on PC. I have 2 100 BR fully certed toons on PS2.. that game is dieing harder then DUST right now..

Ummm.. sounds like I have already been at end game for a bit and playing that game in 2 established outfits for well over a year. Played EVE online since Open beta, when there was just frigs and cruisers in the game. Played DUST since Closed. this toon started in Open. I Like Planetside 2, It's got moments of utter brilliance...but I'm realistic and so is SoE about their expectations with it. DC Universe will be a better long term title for them and they said it.
