There are people out there concerned that increasing the speed of the assault suit will cut in on the scout's turf too much. I am here with words that should set you at ease and tame your bewildered senses.
QUIT YO BITCHIN!
The assault suit has 2x your hitbox size, less than half your scan/damping abilities, cannot equip cloaks and tank properly, and has only one equipment slot. Letting them match your speed might bruise your ego, but after the last few month's the assault has had to deal with, you can **** right the hell off.

They are, and speed isn't E-war. Scouts shouldn't be afraid of an assault with the same move speed if they are using E-war properly since they have worse damps, scans, scan range and larger hitboxes.

This is why he is held in such high regard, because he actually listens to random posters trying to prevent their gear from being nerfed. FTFY Yes, because the Min commando with its huge hitbox and low HP was clearly OP running at 6 m/s. 
Had so much to drink last night I'm still heavily buzzed, I apologize for missing that. v_v But I would support a Minmando speed increase. In fact, if the assault speed increase goes through, you could just about bump them to the current assault speed. (maybe Logi speed?) Their hitbox compensates more than enough.

This the only movement crisis a scout should be concerned about - everybody strafes too fast in this game, scouts included, and scout's base walking speed is too slow.
Base walk speed for scouts is fine, backpeddling for every suit is too fast.

That's one of the Assault's roles.
They're the first suit type to react to an emerging threat, and it's their job to hoof it and create a line of defense while the heavy artillery (Heavies + Logis) is being set up.
