I have several Sentinel fittings, some with lots of Plates, some Rep tanked, and some Speedy ones, too. I have had players tell me that they couldn't spot my Sentinel on their TacNet, but it's only when I use the Speedy guys (usually an Advanced Minmatar Heavy or the Minmatar Militia Heavy) My Plated gK.0 may as well have the Scan Profile of an MCC, because you can see that thing from the opposite end of the map.
So, the question is: Does Armor raise your Scan Profile? Video proof?
(If it does, how the **** does an ADS or HAV, less than 10m away, go undetected by my maxed TacNet skills?)

Because the TacNet is ineffective, clunky, and needs it's own dedicated hotfix just to function properly.

TacNet is stupid.
Also, if armor had a profile penalty, I'm done, that's it, no more DUST for me. I don't feel like having heavies spot me on the TacNet because I decided I don't want to be paper thin in my Gallente Assault

if i remember in the early days using shield extenders used to increase scan profile. it woul dmake sense that increased mass increased profile and the magentic field of shields makes them more detectable but also having the armor plates slow you down is enough penalty.

It be cool if they did.
Or maybe plates could lower precision/range since the extra plating messing with internet radar. Extenders could raise your scan profile.

Why? Oh yes, because that is EVE lore.
This is an example of evetardedness.
The NAVY moves the MARINES around in RL, and that is where similarities end.

It is a game. A game made by CCP. CCP created lore for racial combat styles. That lore is used in both games. It is the basis for their games. Nuff said.

This a consistent anomaly, that I'm sure could be proven true if tested.
If you have a capture card and need a test subject, add me on PSN and we can work on it.

Also a while ago I proposed a Dampening Armor Plate
It gave a little bit of Armor and a little bit of dampening.

Similar weaponry, but on different scales, for example.
You can't try to disconnect the games in a ******** way, like saying that even though plasma in eve has the shortest range, it should have the longest range in Dust because "they're different games"

It's just logic, shield is a electromagnetic barrier, have you ever heard a buzz noise near the high voltage cables? Do i have to continue the story? i'm not so good in english, i can't find the words.

Or the exact opposite logic makes sense. The current canon holds that heavy suits appear on tacnet easier than light suits suggesting MASS is the determining factor in the scanability of a dropsuit. Shields have no mass being of electromagnetic radiation (or whatever the non-scientific lore is) therefore have no effect on scan profile.
Armor plates add mass to a dropsuit so THEY should increase scan profile.
This would deter tanked scouts as they no longer have stealth capabilities with a scan profile higher than a medium.

Apparently, context clues are lost.
I'm not suggesting that it should be implemented, I'm suggesting that it already is.
Queue up against a friend. You deploy in a MLT Heavy - no Plates, no Extenders Player 2 deploys in an Assault, or non-EWAR modded fitting of your choice. Player 2, Check the Passive Scans.
Now, Redeploy in an Armor tanked Sentinel. Player 2, Check the Passive Scans again.
As previously stated, I have my Passive Scan skills maxed as did my last test subject. I don't know how much of an effect this has on the experiment, that is why I leave it in your hands.

The way it should work is the way that Eve does it:
1) Armor plates ---> decreased speed 2) Shield extenders ---> increased scan profile
