I don't know of any "Good" heavies.
Forge gun sniping is the only thing that requires skill from a sentinel, rather than mountains of ISK.
The "best" heavies are the ones who pioneered murder-taxing, but that doesn't make them good players.

you should talk about the heavies that were awesome here when heavies sucked.
Same way you should look at the assaults while assaults are sucking
and the same way you can look at the scouts when they used to fail.
When a player can go above the status quo with performance in an underperforming suit against the current FoTM. That's when you know that person is a skilled player.

Jaques Cayton and Preston D2 always gave me problems. Kaotic was the first beast heavy imo. But there's a lot of others out there. |

I started out as heavy as soon as i got this game, so im pretty good at area denial. But i rarely use my proto gal and hmg prof 5 unless im with a full squad or in a complex map.
In my opinion if Alldin got out of his proto cal and used lower tier stuff id consider him one of the top heavies, but im not a fan of proto stomping  |

My Dren and Templar heavy suits say otherwise ;p
But i will agree with your assessment of cubs, we have had some epic fights in fat suits, the best that i can recall is we were both in cover, trying to kill each other while others were trying to kill us, we took care of them and continued to fight each other, he got me in the end but that fight was one of the longest iv had lol.

Ceerix MKII is one of the best hmg/forging heavies. He doesn't use logi's or BS LAV tactics.
I witnessed him use an Amarr BPO and MH-82 and killed Aldin Khan's proto boundless sentinel three times 1 v 1. Aldin used a gunlogi the rest of that game.

when taking and holding points, you can't beat Amarr and Gallente. Minmatar and Caldari just can't stand toe to toe and try to take something from the other two.
It's sad but if they took the last cookie, the Mnmatar and Caldari would be the little brother crying in the corner.  |

Ok I have to chime in. I run a basic Dren heavy and I have been a heavy since closed beta. The fact most say heavies suck is because they have never faced a true heavy. I have slacked off a lot and if you want to know what a true heavy is I will come back full time and show everyone. I am sick of these watered down heavies they are part of the FOTM problem, could not hack it as a cloaked scout and so they went tank and try and win. The fact is most of the great heavies are gone. I know I fought a lot of them.
The problem is a heavy cant do their damn job because of the poor match making. As a heavy I cant hold a point, hack all objectives, and fight horde after horde of SG scouts and RR heavies by myself. I have been in to many matches where I carried the freakin team. I for one am sick of the heavy BS whining.
That is why I have been skilling into assault to get away from the heavy. I love the heavy, but after all the BS of matchmaking and the IQ of some blues I cant carry the team anymore and I am done trying.

On my heavy, I chose to skill into Commando (Cal), cause I got got tired of getting smoked all the time on the wide-open maps, or depending on dumb smurfs for support when playing solo. Turned out to be a good choice; plus you don't have to waste points in the medium suit part of the tree, and can spend it directly on L or S weapons.
