currently the HMG is a powerful weapon that can can quite literally kill someone in a second and it just seems too powerful at times with almost all heavies.
i agree that the HMG should be like this but it is kind of ridiculous when 1 proto heavy can mow down countless people in a matter of seconds.
ive used the HMG before and as ive used it ive noticed it take anywhere from 1-3 seconds to kill someone but if you're on the other side of the barrel it seems like your getting kill instantly, which kind of isn't right.
i think that if you reduced the dmg by 10-15% and reduced the heat build-up by about 10-20% it would still be a feared weapon but it atleast you will have time to react and do something about it instead of having all these FOTM heavies basically mass murdering groups of people without even trying.
im only at lvl 4 of the HMG so would rather have the opinions and perspectives of the proto HMG'ers to see what they think

Scout will literally be all you see if you nerf the hmg. Shotguns and remote explosives are already extraordinarily powerful against heavies, this would make them broken. |

I don't know how you are making your suit but the only thing my proto Hmg with proficiency 2 can kill in 1-3 sec is scouts and weak mediums suits. And that balances out since scouts are pretty hard to hit in the first place.

hmg should not be nerfed across the board,but i do agree the boundless needs a nerf not by 10 -15% though, maybe a rof nerf?

I think they should revert the heavy weapons back to the way they were with the slow turn speed. Currently as it stands there is no role well suited to taking down heavies other than other heavies. Remotes will always do the trick but that's a tactic that is only really suited to certain maps and tricky to pull off consistently.
The HMG is currently fit of the month for sure and probably for the rest of this games existence and thats not ever going to change unless action is taken. The game is actually pretty boring this way.
Everyone atm is just like tank out your suit and start strafing. People have tried out everything else and now they have all reverted back to the tactic that results in the best score.

At the same time i run my heavy i also run an advanced scout that is built specifically to destroy heavies, and i don't use remotes or a shotgun, or even a cloak. All i use is an advanced combat rifle and i get just outside the range of the hmg since they are short range weapons and i kill the heavy 9/10 times. Any one if the are even moderately competent can face a heavy if the get out of hmg optimal range and aren't stupid

Improving the assault is then my preferred counter to heavies, not nerfing heavies, most likely through racial tanking improvements, pure damage output and regen. Just my general thoughts on the subject. found here

HMGs need a nerf, but the issue is not their damage, nor has it ever been. It is the application of that damage.
Increase the dispersion, which will allow it to have its massive killing potential up close, but will reduce its ability to kill as distance increases.The HMG will still be king of CQC, but suits will have the ability to escape that damage and take advantage of the longer ranged weapons. This also means it is easier to escape a heavy that is riding around in an LAV, because you can quickly reduce that DPS by getting farther away, while he is still taking full damage from the rifles, which most people will be using.
I want heavies to be a threat to me, but I don't want them to still be a threat if I play my advantage and get range on them.
Rattati has spoken. CalScout hitbox is fine. You're gun game is broken.

If youre killing a scout in 1-3 secs...then it's definitely not hard to hit...
"One does not simply" run like a Raptor. Only mk.0 Scouts do that.
