No, the rail is superior.
Missile's only good with it's splash, and it's difficult to land horizontal shots against infantry (which is why they're so good on dropships since dropships attack from above).
Rails have the benefit of huge damage, long range, instant travel time, and anti-vehicle ability. And since you can actually aim down sight with a steady aiming platform, it's easier to use on an LAV than a dropship.
Blasters are too close range to be used on a LAV since your suit's exposed and you can be shot out easier.

I still rock my Methana it's just that small rails are the way to go now even though it totally used to be backwards, scattered blasters used to be the only way to go....
And holy hell I remember that dropship teleporting it was soooooo weird.
Now with small rails though you can actually take out a tank!

yeah, i remember that too, rails, ******** damage and too much overheat, how things have changed 
as for planetside, it sucks with no one to play it with, so i'm drifting back to BF4 and am looking for a new crowd to roll with.

the buff to blaster turret has returned the scatter blaster of old. it splashes and cones again. i was driving a heavy gunner around last night in methana/ion cannon those who are saying it's not good are wrong. it shred infantry
