I like the debate but I just think that anything that includes a racial bonus , only marginalizes the game .
Case in point , if you would like to be a medic then Minmatar is your choice , if you would like to provide intelligence then Gal is your choice and so on but what this does is oversaturate the field with like suits because of the performance values from the role bonuses .
Same is goes for the other roles .
Yes you might see some variety every so often but those situations are scarce and the bulk of the matches you have certain racial suits dominating the battlefield , where as if we have role based performance bonuses it increases the chance of seeing all races represented .
All I see is Min logi's , Gal / Amarr heavies .. with some Cal sometimes and Min rarely , Cal and Gal scouts with a few hardcore Min scouts and just so few Assaults of any race .
If I would like to play Caldari Assault and their bonuses effect RR then I wont use them because I don't use rails and that creates the oversaturation of one race . Some players just use what they feel maximizes their performance and when they are tied into racial bonuses they have suits of all races and roles all over the map and not focused on their race if they choose to .
I would love to go full Caldari but I don't use rails , have them but just don't use them because I have more tied up into other weapons that I perform better with .
I believe that Assaults should go back to role based performance bonuses or if you do racial I believe these would work .
Caldari Assault : 2 % bonus to shield charger / energizers efficacy and 2 % bonus to shield extender efficacy .
Minmatar Assault : 2 % bonus to shield extender efficacy and 2 % bonus to shield regulators efficacy .
Gal Assault : 1 % to armor repairer efficacy and 3 % to armor plate efficacy .
Amarr Assault : 2 % to armor efficacy and 2 % to stamina recovery and max stamina .
All per level and an increase to the Tac Net efficiency where all Assaults should be able to read lightly dampened scouts no more than standard level and having to fit scanners or EWAR mods to see advanced but prototype should remain the same and this being , scouts can see everything and no other suits has that advantage .
Assaults can not assault if they are not better equipped and they should be the counter to scouts ... not Heavies and only Gal logistics can see them now and this creates again , a oversaturation of Gal logi's just to serve that purpose .
Assaults should keep the bonus to reduction to weapons that they currently serve but the need more survivability and to be better equipped .
I believe that they should all have a 1 HP regen per level as well and if not per level then just a flat 2 HP regeneration rate .
The bonuses and the HP gives them the survivability that they need to actually be better at assaulting from that same said point and also we all know that Tac Net sucks and if anyone should be able to see scouts it should be assaults .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.
