Alright, so initially I said I wasn't going to do this but it's just too good an opportunity to share who I'd like to see on the CPM1. I could go on and give some long, drawn-out explanation (okay, I totally did...) as to why I'm endorsing each individual candidate but it's largely all for the same reason: I feel that they are the best suited, most professional, and well experienced individuals to do a good job on the CPM and make our experience(s) much more worthwhile. I'm also endorsing these candidates because I know for a fact that they will do a good job of furthering the goals (ISD, 3rd Party tools, etc) that I set forward as a candidate myself, even if I'm not elected.
1) Aeon Amadi Yeah, I'm endorsing myself for obvious reasons, see my campaign post
2) Cross Atu Let's just say that initially I didn't like Cross Atu because HE JUST WOULDN'T. [REDACTED]. DIE. Seriously, guy is amazingly skilled in game and whenever I saw his name in battle I'd just give a sigh and say something along the lines of, "Here we [redacted] go..."
In all seriousness, though, I've shamelessly relied on Cross Atu to be my voice of reason at times. I'm blunt and very sarcastic, so having someone who can filter all that out and convey what -I'm- trying to say is an awesome help. He's demonstrated, more times than not, that he's interested in the overall experience of the game and even when we disagree he'll still be concise in his mannerisms, making his argument that much more effective. He'll ask the hard questions when necessary and isn't afraid to tell you what's up... even if he's polite in how he does it
3) Kevall Longstride Look, I've tried teaching new players how to handle up on this game but I'm just not that good at it So when this guy goes out of his way to run a corporation dedicated to teaching new players all the ins-and-outs of Dust 514, frustrating as they may be at times, I can't help but commend (and endorse!) him for his efforts. If anyone is qualified to speak on the new players' behalf, it's Kevall Longstride. PLEASE DO NOT pass up an opportunity to get this guy on the CPM because of how powerful his experience is.
4) Iron Wolf Saber He's been on the CPM for over a year and that experience is invaluable to the current CPM. It's one thing to have a handful of people who were on the previous CPM give you a crash-course on the way things work, then send you on your way, but it's something else to have that experience brought over to assist in the daily endeavors and rigors that are being a representative. If it were up to me, one representative of -every- CPM would cross over into the next just because of how valuable I personally feel that this sort of experience is.
5) Zatara Rought Maybe it was because no matter how hard I tried, I'd always find myself on the opposite of the battle with him, but I used to hate this guy. Then I had a few beers with him, actually had an opportunity to listen to what he had to say without automatically assuming that he was trolling because The War Room - for some [redacted] reason - doesn't have a 'Insert sarcasm mark here' button.
Filter out the bias, get to know him, and you'll learn he's interested in the game progressing as a whole, which is largely the exact same thing that I am. His experience in the organized and competitive play is powerful and it goes well in contrast to the above listed candidates I'm endorsing. Beyond that though, I'm endorsing him largely because I learned something about myself from our affiliation - and that was to read between the lines of what a person is saying and understand why they're saying it, who they are, and what you can learn from them.
6) Pokey Dravon S'like the savant of turning abstract non-sense into something comprehensible. One of the more prominent members of the Skype community that Dust 514 has, but more importantly he's insanely level headed. I don't think I've ever once heard of this guy getting bent out of shape over anything. S'like the unicorn of Dust 514, only the unicorn is the person who has never rage quit. I have this huge regret that I never actually got to sit down and play more with Pokey but I certainly intend to change that in the future
7) The Black Jackal What can I say? Guy gives me hope. I'm usually pretty deep seated in my practical approaches when it comes to new ideas and I'm often very quick to shoot something down if I don't think it's feasible but The Black Jackal always manages to power through it all and have these really neat concepts for the future. Sure, we disagree on some of those, but it's something I'm honestly glad we disagree on because that imagination is what is going to separate our experiences from the rest of the drab games out on the market today.
That and he's from Australia. Anyone who can live with that many poisonous animals kinda makes them like The Hulk of Dust 514 o.o;
