Having fun, yes, because the fitting system gives me plenty of options for a change. Also because I know some people to play with and squad up. I have no understanding of game mechanics/balancing, but the game feels good to me at the moment. I have no other character than the one I created during closed beta, so no idea how the game feels for a newbie. The worst experience I had was during closed beta, half a year before the open beta, I think. Vehicles seemed OP at this time... wait...
Yes, I still spend money. For me it is like going to the cinema, except that when I buy an active booster for the weekend I know what I get from it. The movie might be very bad, but the extra SP earns me that new level faster. I might loose all this one day, but I do it for the short term experience. I do not see it as an investment.
I hardly know the community, I cannot get used to reading forums. Am glad that some people do Youtube videos and talk about what is going on. Like the people I squad up with, otherwise I wouldn't do it again after the first time. Have great respect for the people who take all the time to write up reviews, give strong feedback, organize corporations, do meta gaming (coz that makes up for some awesome drama and content in the sandbox). Some I guess do it coz they want a new job I bet, but why not. Kudos. CPM? Well, what I just wrote.
CCP owns the IP that caters to my interest in sci-fi, spaceships and a future vision. The have this fitting concept in a sci-fi setting I do not know of where else to find, so I am their customer. But they are a company that competes in our economic environment with all its benefits and drawbacks and I have no knowledge on how to direct a gaming corporation. So I just lean back, watch the action and see what comes out of it. I have faith in people with passion for what they do. If CCP has them, then I am glad for the IP and myself as their customer. But everthing ends sooner or later. - [note to self: slow down]
Hell, if they can realize in Legion the vision that they had for Dust, I will definitely play it. See my statement about the IP and my addiction to it above. |
