Seriously why does nobody uses them properly these days? I for myself like to drive around with a buddy (both forgegun suits) and shot people with small railguns. Its such a fun thing to do and its effective cause tons of people underestimate them. Another thing is that the driver (me) and my gunner are both using forgeguns and we can screw everything up be it lav's, tanks or dropships. Espacially tanks like to chase a LAV until it drives around a corner and both forgegunners are waiting for it to turn around the corner.
ill share my LAV fit: -methana -60mm basic armor plate -complex light repper -militia fuel injector -20GJ particle accelerator (advanced small rail)
its really fun to play like this regardless what game mode it is. On ambush OMS i like to do the AV patrol and screw tanks up when they are beeing deployed. On objective type matches i like to do infantry support fire (heavys die after 3 hits) and aswell AV role at the same time. one thing however is a must have and that is small railgun proficency up to 3 to get decnet rotation speed. Another plus for LAV's is that they can use cover unlike dropships while still beeing quick. That and that my LAV fit costs like 80k a pop which is much cheaper then a fully fitted ADS. |

Here's some reasons why I don't bring out my Saga.
Collision damage. It's not fun to come around a corner and apply full brakes, only to tap a tank and blow up. Nor is it fun to have a friendly tank reverse into you and blow you up either...
Blaster tanks (especially Ion Cannons) always destroy my Saga. Even if I zoom past them, they can turn around fast enough to finish me off and I can't get out of their range fast enough.
Blueberries. It's all fun to drive my Saga by myself and hop into my particle accelerator on the back to snipe some people or to help destroy an enemy tank. But I can't have that fun if a blueberry hops into the passenger seat or jumps into the turret, because then I can't do either without the blueberry driving off and killing the both of us.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't use LAVs the traditional way due to reasons like this. However, these reasons don't apply to JLAVs. Collision damage is perhaps the only reason they work. The blaster tank will either get destroyed or the JLAV gets destroyed at no cost (whereas my Saga costs almost 100k). And you shouldn't give two ****s about a blueberry in your JLAV.

This is fun, and I've done this before. The reason I don't do regularly now is cause LAV's cost ISK.
However, if CCP put a BPO LAV back on the market, it would be on like Donkey Kong.

This right here. This man speaks the truth.
Collision damage is inconsistent in the game and generally just way too harsh. Tapping a tank at 3MPH should not even dent the thing let alone blow it to pieces!

most people drive shield based lav's which suck. as theres no armour based bpo lav people dont try it out and find out what a monster it can be. stay away from tanks and use armour based lav's. shield based are to floaty squishy and flip way to easily.

It's roughly akin to driving a teacup ride.
K/D(r) WP/D(r) matchmaking fixes the whole game. Period.

Multiple Reasons 1) Poor Light Assault Vehicle They are just terrible when being used to kill. You are either moving to fast for your gunner to hit anything, or your moving to slow and either your gunner gets shot out because of limited protection or a swarm launcher appears out of nowhere and 2 shots you.
2) Poor transport vehicle, it only carries 3 people, is incredibly weak, relatively unstable while driving and takes so long to deploy it's often faster just to run there as a pack of 6.
How to fix this? 1) Give LAV's similar survivability to Dropships Boost base EHP slightly and allow 1 heavy module to be fitted and the rest light. It should take just over 1 mag (+1 more volley, that's 4 in total if you can't count) to destroy it, this way they are easily soloable but a good pilot can still survive (admittedly with his tail between his legs)
2) Create 2 variants LTV and LAV On the LTV replace the rear turret with 4 seats, this allows for a full squad to be transported across roads with speed, comfort and ease, although it's considerably more rewarding when a tank gets you.
For the LAV remove the front passenger seat and change the design to give the gunner better front and side protection. This will allow them to actually fire the turret without getting shot off so regularly but switching from driver to gunner yourself will almost always get you killed against a Swarm Launcher.
Then people willmuse them.

M primary reasons for not running an LAV.
#1. Small Blasters Suck
#2. Blueberries are always stealing or being useless in my LAV.
#3. Who the **** designed this thing. It doesn't look like it's made for war they both look like a damned sports car. I hope they get a remodel in Legion.
