In eve we have implants that cut time in skilling certain skills and i definitely think if we can some good connections in eve universe we should have implants
The implants wont cut "time" spent on training but they will cut the amount of Sp needed for skills. Granted it will be like 5% which is a lot but the effectiveness will be compensated by the prices of the implants.
Somtheing to this effect (these aare still prototype ideas and i didnt want to forget these)
Type l ISK l Trait l Effectivness
Ocular implant- Basic l 15,000,000.00 l Perception l +3
Memory Augmentation - Standard l 18,000,000.00 l Memory l +4
Limited Nueral Boost l 10,000,000.00 l Willpower l +1
And so on and so forth and literally the same set up with eve and you can only have one of each implant and you CCP guys and capsullers know what im talking about
what i would like to see is the implants doing what they are supposed to do.
ei... Assault rifle level I skill
Assault rifle before implant - 12,000 SP
Assault rifle with limited implant - 11,850 SP
Assault rifle with basic implant -11,600 SP
Assault rifle with beta/higher -11,500 SP
Thats just with only the implant that boosts perception
now with perception and willpower implants there would be more calculating than i want to do but im sure they can just copy [aste the formulas over from eve

First off, LegionHares? Sounds like someone here can't grow out of Dust Bunnies.
Second, many of the implants in Eve Online are not skill centered. Many have a practical use such as a bonus to ship PG/CPU. If I recall correctly some even have a bonus to other implants. There are also boosters (narcotic-like items) that give you a momentary bonus to damage output, speed, turret RoF or deg/sec, etc.

Not really fond of the idea of bringing this to DUST. It doesn't make a lot of sense with the system DUST uses for skills. I'd rather see implants/boosters for other things.

How do we lose our Implants?
Gotta lose Implants somehow.

That's another thing that Eve Online has with implants. If you get podded with the implants, you lose them. Period. No chance of salvaging them. Nowadays players who have expensive implants on them have a tendency to manually destroy their implants if they are caught in their pods in space with no chance of escape so that the value of the lost implants won't show up on the kill mails.

Maybe after a certain amount of time like the narcotics in eve/ boosters but at least we need these to be non-AUR based.
Something that everyone can get their hands onto without bringing it to our wallets.

What about another form of hardware like cybernetic enhancement for instance;
The odins eye for a better target identification/ radar boost. Cybernetic legs for a slightly higher jump/speed. cybernetic arms for increase in melee, plate in the head to give a better resistance to headshots, an enhanced spine for faster turning speeds, breast plate for an extra 20 ehp, etc.
If you do these for instance and give them some form of...they last for 1000 deaths or 20 battles or something along those lines, you would have to replenish them after a while or you could let them also be repairable for a surtain fee, so you would have to repair them after they brake down of extensive use. Should you choose to replace them, then the original ones are lost.
The cybernetics allready exist in EVE, except there they are just cosmetics, but for us they could be a hole lott more and they would work better then just memory augmentations. |
