so we all know how annoying and bullshit caldari scouts can be.
the most commone setup I see. is a caldari scout with boundless combat rifle. stacked shields. and lows with dampners.
compared to other scouts. I swear that the caldari scout has the smallest hitbox. would make sense if it were min minmatarr at least.
when compared to the other scouts. amarrian has ridiculos stamina/sprint/recovery. minmatarr has very brutal knives/hacking. gallente is good at hiding. then the caldari... good at seeing everything as well as managing to hide.
the only way I have even manged to kill a caladri scout without a tank.... is with my gk.o assault suit with creodron breach PR/ creo ion pistol.
how do you deal with these pesky caldari scouts?

I reckon heavys and Gallente scouts are the best counters, other than Caldari scouts fitted with 2 or 3 precision mods. Also anti shield weapons.
CCP fixing the hit detection would be the best counter. |

Laser Rifles are surprisingly good against CalScouts. Also, ARs, ScRs and HMGs.
The Shotgun should OHK these guys, but it tends to "miss" them regularly. By "miss" I mean hitting them center mass will often deal zero damage.
Something is off with the CalScout.

Or you can just walk around with a Scrambler Rifle, I think most of them have learned to simply avoid those at this point.

Actually the Minmatar has superior stamina/sprint/recovery to the Amarr. Due to the Minmatar's naturally higher speed and is less likely to fit plates they can out run the Amarr at both short and long distances. They also have 2x (60) stamina recovery of Caldari/Gallente (30) and 50% more than the Amarr (40). Even when you add in the Amarr bonus (+25%) as long as they fit any kind of plates (except maybe ferroscale) they will be slower than a Minmatar, and even if you made their bonus 100% they would still be slower than Minmatar scouts if the Amarr scout wears basic plates. |

scrambler weapons. any of them. they wreck cal scouts. it's annoying actually. just tiny charge up shots from a scrambler rifle kills them. .. not even fully charged shots, just *whirr pew whirr pew* dead.

I just spray and pray. Works only less than 10% of the time My 681 EHP on my Amarr assault gone while I can't even hit them for more than a few shots.
A combination of what feels like a smaller hitbox and the ridiculous strafing mechanics that allows them to zip left and right and bunny hop, which makes my chances of hitting them extremely small while they have an aim-lock on me somehow.

Yay, another CalScout thread!
I chuckle every time someone says, "ScRs melt me," or "Put a PR on and watch me die." While I do agree that these rifles do seem "more effective" than say CRs or RRs, the fact remains that CalScouts can still easily out maneuver these weapons.
I don't know if they have tiny ass hitboxes or if there is something wrong with their hit detection, but the numerous complaints by countless amounts of players all state something similar. One notable point is that players who use CalScouts will argue that nothing is wrong with the suit, and they will continue to believe so until an official statement by CCP is made.
Personally, I have the suit maxed out alongside GalScouts, Amarr Sentinels, and an "in the works" MinAssault. Out of what's available to me, I always default back to the CalScout if I want to do any "slaying." Why? Because the darned suit is so effective at it.
I can strafe around fire, scan almost everyone, and regen my shields on the go. I can go toe-to-toe against HMG fire and can run my ass off if I need to fall back from a bad situation. The suit is godly and the best counter to one is to be one. Slap on a Duvolle and go crazy. |

Cal scouts do have the smallest hitbox :o(
Minmatar the largest... it's why they are so easy to hit..
It's how they balanced speedy suits when everyone had to actually aim for them selves..
Specially moving around at 10m/s in a scout suit having to aim for your self there was no 80-90% accuracy doing that before.. Falling down a hill and hitting completely accuractely... That didnt happen in the DUST that everyone romanticize over.. It was a FPS that produced deaths that made sense.. maybe 50% accuracy at best doing those actions and you have to limit your movement patterns to get steady consistent aim accuracy.
Flux a cal scout and spray .. they will just drop dead.. PLC's splash near one shots them.
otherwise just take advantage of bullets completely stunning and stopping movement on scout suits and spray in their general direction. |

Something is off with the CalScout. I have never seen anything more than anecdotal evidence supporting this claim.
I have never had any more problems with hit detection against CalScouts than any other frame in the game. My ScR eats them faster than my CR, true, but my ScR eats pretty much everything except bricked armour-tankers faster than my CR.
Certainly there are enough complaints to justify a looking over, but I would dearly like to see some video evidence of these so-called 'bugged CalScouts'.
Incidentally, I'd wager your issues are due more to the hit detection issues caused by the combination of CQC, strafing and lag than anything untoward about the CalScout (though I'd be happy to be wrong!)

I find the cal scout in CQC to be fine but for some reason when they have distance (30m) they are much tougher to hit. They are also a hard counter to my min assault (hard to hit and run when the whole team can see you trying to flank) so maybe I'm a little biased. My main strategy for them is to spray my SMG at them and pray. Shotty works pretty well too.
