They claim bullet snare has been removed from game but many people claim it still exists. I think I've got it figured out: it is KNOCKBACK. When you get hit by a shot, the force pushes you away from the shooter, causing you to move in a direction you aren't expecting which may feel like you are being snared.
I noticed it today when I jumped to escape incoming fire. Instead of moving in a straight line, I was slammed into the wall to my left while I was in mid air. On another occasion, I hit a red with GEK and when he died he went flying through the air away from me. And then I realized I've been seeing a lot more mini ragdolls from rifle kills lately.
So, am I on to something?

Every once in a while (match) I get the feeling that CCP was just trolling us when they said that they had set all slow down on hit values to 0 on all weapons. Or that they decided to ninja it back into the game because of reasons. Am I the only one who feels this way? |

So, am I on to something? Someone really flew with ragdoll from my ACR the other day, like it was a core locus kill. I haven't seen that before but I doubt they have changed anything in that respect, it's probably just a fluke.
In any case, the calculations for what happens when you're alive and what happens when you're dead will be calculated entirely separately. So how people ragdoll doesn't tell you anything about how bullets affect live mercs. |

It was also the first time I came across the M209 Assault SMG. I use that thing a lot... do I slow people down like that without me even knowing?
HMGs definitely slow me down.
@OP: I'm not sure if it's knock back, because even if I'm running away from an HMG, I'm still slowed down.

quick sand and bullets slowing you down is not good for my blood pressure.
I have never yelled at my screen so much as i have playing DUST.
Having another player own you? Sure dust it off get back up and get better.
Having core game mechanics continue to cost you deaths, from even walking up a hill and getting stuck and killed.
This game is rage inducing and the bullet stunning makes me question why I even turned on my playstation 3 to log onto DUST. |

There not being a fix to the sprint bugs even though they've been adamantly reported for months is sad. There is little else to be said about it. Anyway, I noticed a week or two ago (maybe +/- Hotfix Bravo deployment?) that HMG fire makes it feel like I was running underwater. Something's going on because it's damn near impossible to outstrafe a fatsuit's HMG fire within 20m. |

There's a 3rd possibility - it accidentally regressed. I too have noticed obvious inertia effects when being shot over the last few weeks I came back to DUST since beginning of May. Makes me think the same thing - "I thought they removed that".

I've noticed a new thing happening that I've *never* experienced before. The CRU between echo and bravo on Border Gulch. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1261148#post1261148. The CRU is located above ground level, and the south and west corners of the raised structure it sits in have slopes you can run up. Several times now, I have gotten stuck on the little light thingy that sticks out near the top. I'll be steaming up it at 10 m/s and awww snap I get stuck, as if it trips me up.
I've run up these things hundreds of times before pre- hotfix Alpha, but now I sometimes trip over on my way up them. So inertia / terrain mechanics etc do appear to have changed. I do also seem to be experiencing more glitching with hill terrain etc., esp. frustrating in a fire-fight - but TBH I may just be noticing something that's always been there with that stuff.

I only notice it with the rail rifle to be honest. I feel like I'm slowed every single time from that basic rail rifle. I see more and more people using it too which is disconcerting.

I'm pretty sure if you're hit by an SCR from a modded controller while in a minscout you won't be noticing knockback. You'll be dead.

Ragdoll for deaths have been around for a while. If you are seeing this with deaths, that is different than if you survive as it is triggered by clone death.
Did you survive when you were "pushed" into the wall, or were you dead?
