She'd been able to get at least three hours of solid sleep before the NeoCom unit beside her bed began to rattle the top of her bedside table.
Grumbling at the disruption of her brief hours of down time she cast about in the dark, running a hand over the sensor strip on the wall, activating the lights and revealing a very humble apartment with and odd assortment Matari and Amarrian design philosophies trying to co-exist in a disharmonious manner.
Blinking sleep from her eye she busied herself with looking presentable, shrugging out of her shift and into a loose fitting shirt, and leggings, and straightening the tousled mess that was her hair. While still dishevelled at least she was presentable.
Judging by the time of the call however there could only be one person calling, and that meant that he was back from deployment..... or setting out on patrol.
She took a place at the edge of the bed, carefully arranging the dark curls of her hair so that it covered the ropy scars that ran down the length of her right arm, and over the back of the shoulder. Once satisfied that the deformities were fully obscured she flipped up the NeoCom unit, placing it carefully into its stand, and answered the video call.
For a moment she was confused. The caller was not who she expected. In the fore ground was Denak, his Intaki features distinguished him, and brought back waves of nostalgia.
She managed a tired but pleasant smile, leaning into the picture to get a closer look at the man. To her surprise he was clad in robes similar to those of the Amarrian clergy.
"Ashaltiasten Denak, it is so good to see you" She said in fluent Amarrish, few hints of the Matari dialects still remains in her voice, each word was enunciated in full.
She took great pride in that. Since having arrived at the Consulate University in Tanoo she had spend the last 9 months in study learning much. One of the by products was that her knowledge of the language had made great leaps and bounds and she rarely if ever had to use translation programs to understand her class mates.
