The question I ask is: "Why does the HMG have an effective range of 55 meters?"
Heavies are currently beast at assault (due to their weapon range and mobility), while they should only be beast at defense, as stated by the community time and time again.
So I propose the following:
Reducing the range of the HMG to say... 25 meters effective range.
Reducing the speed of heavies by 15% on all heavies with the exception of the Minmatar heavy.
I hope you can see where I'm coming from, I find it frustrating that a CQC weapon has only 15 meters less effective range than an Assault Rifle.
Its because you do not understand the diffrence between effective and optimal, the effective means very little. I think hmg may need a slight damage nerf, but the range is fine.

Does not push forward? So how do they arrive at the point in question? Spawn in or bust,, I think the problem is your perception of what a hmg sentinel is supposed to do.

I believe a gun does 70% of the damage of optimal, thus 600 DPS rather than the 800 it usually is.
Again, now you are saying optimal. CCP defines these 2 things very diffrently. There is an optimal and an effective. When you get intl a weapons effective the damage is very low. You should argue based on the optimal, never on the effective, you dig?

Effective damage is 70% of optimal damage. So if my gun did 100 DPS in optimal range it would do 70 DPS in effective range. Understand?

Oh wow you listen to him when I tell you that from the get go? I play this **** I know. I dont comform to one role, I have 6 proto suits, play them all and have a great feel for the balance. Maybe you should try a role change. I have agreed that the HMG could, use a slight nerf, but they are monsters are they not?
