So my idea is, and I don't know if this has been requested already,
You press a key, and a little selection wheel pops up with different requests, you can request resupply, triage, a vehicle pickup, or backup. You would select your request, and an icon would appear above your chevron with what you need. Obviously only visible to allies.
They do this really well in other games, I think this should be a must have in legion. Players need to be able to communicate with their team even if they do not use voice chat. And in a squad, simply using the request system could clear up a lot of coms chatter.

I would like this, for situations where voice chat is not an option. It would be cool to use the same kind of menu as the squad orders window.

what a typical ignorant/elitist response
Take the ping system in League of Legends for example. Having a way to communicate with you teammates when you are not using coms is critical.

A lot of holes in your theory.
First is the high pitch whine of younger gamers. Some of them are pretty good but I do not want to hear their annoying voices on my comms!
Secondly some of us are a bit too poor to afford headsets. And I imagine a lot of legionhares coming from dust will be even poorer as they will need a PC.
Thirdly, some of us use laptops and have mics built in. The feedback is so ******* annoying it makes me want to punch a baby in the face!
