I'm not the greatest player but sometimes when i get into matches no matter how safe i try to play the enemy team is just too ruthless and eventually i just begin to hover outside my redline. I'm not exactly new but i've been sniping so long i don't know how to really play they field and i'm trying to learn. I just need some advice on how to move about on the maps even when my team is losing badly. It honestly makes me wanna go back to sniping because then even if my team is losing i can still do well. Also is there anything i can do against these scouts by myself or should i just leave that area alone when one is guarding it? I run a caldari commando frame with advanced assault railgun and militia assault gun for secondary. with 2 shield extenders and a nanohive.
The first thing to do is stop running by yourself. Even if you are not in a squad, find a group of 2 or 3 guys and stick to them like glue. Wherever they go, you go. By running with others, you are less likely to get snuck up on and shotgunned in the back (it will still happen but not as frequently). You will also, if you run into two or three enemies instead of 1, be MUCH more likely to survive the encounter and possibly even get a kill or two yourself. Also, with commando, run with either uplinks or nanohives. If you are running with heavies, throw on a repair tool and keep them alive. The better you help them out and keep them alive, the more likely it is that you will survive.

Also, try some other weapons possibly. Instead of going double assault, check out swarm launchers/plasma cannons/mass drivers, something that can damage vehicles. If you have those, other people will help you out and try and keep you alive so you can take out tanks/ dropships/LAVs. By running two separate types of weapons, you are giving yourself versatility to do more than one task at a time.

One last word of encouragement... Don't give up. It will get better, I promise. I ran Sniper for almost a year and when I started to transition to up close fighting because Snipers have been nerfed to oblivion, I got my butt handed to me. My KDR went from a 4.0 + to under 1 really quickly. I had to learn the hard way and basically learn how to play the game again because it is so much different up close. I had several matches for the first month or so where I went 0-9, 1-11, 1-16, 3-10, etc. After that month, it started showing up as 4-7, 5-6, 8-11, 3-4, etc. Still dying a lot but I was almost getting at many kills as deaths. By the second month I was running about even, lots of 8-8, 10-10, 4-4, 5-4, 6-7 type matches where I'm right around a 1.0 KDR. I'm still not great by a long shot but I've had matches recently where I've gone 9-1, 11-4, 14-8, etc. Do I still get the occasional 4-9? All the time. But it is a lot less frequent and the matches where my kills outnumber my deaths are even more common.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is don't give up. Take the advice of some of these guys who have been around doing it for a while. There are always people willing to help you if you'll take the time to listen. They've turned me from a complete and total scrub to an only once in a while scrub, and occasionally I will even lead the leaderboard if my uplinks/nanohives are placed right and don't get blown up.
